I'm not going to use the template as the bot wasn't even being used on this particular account except to level, but yesterday I was banned (not suspended, but banned) for exploiting the economy. I sent in my appeal email and the ban was lifted.

As others have mentioned, pray that you always get an exploiting the economy ban because it's rather easy to get those reversed.

I still don't think that HB is detected and I still think player reports are the main reason for the increase in bans. I have a total of five accounts, and the other four were safe even though two of those are farmers and another has been BG botting. It was my banker account that got hit. If it was detected, I would assure you that my farming accounts would have felt the hit.

Don't let all of these bans discourage you guys. Just don't bot what you don't want to lose. And be smart.

It turns out one of my other accounts was banned as well (heavy farmer), but I got that one overturned as well. So far, both bans were exploiting/abusing the economy and none were about bots. I did, however, get Blizzard to pretty much admit that because they are so hell bent on banning botters that they do ban legit accounts quite a bit. I think that as long as you aren't pegged for botting/hacks, your account should be easy to get back. While I appealed my ban I logged onto my main account and kept botting with LazyRaider.

I AIN'T SCURRED, YO!
