exile key expired?

hello i purchasedf a lifetime key and it says it is expired yet offers to exchange for another key. what gives? has something changed?

Edit: ok i found the post that mentions honor,Demon and Hearth buddies but no mention of exile buddy. and while i can see since we are all in the boat together we should share some responsibility for cost, I am not a pro farmer none of my characters have reached passsed 77 i just fill a niche for me and my 5 friends to every once in a while come up with decent non map farmed gear. there has to be a better option than month to month especially for users in my situation....
