I'm not sure if oyu guys noticed now, but in the new patch, you get XP for... Mining and herbs?!!?! Wicked! So basically it seems clear ot me that you should jsut mine/herb you way to lvl 80! =D Gatherbuddy + HonorBuddy in 1! =D

As always, the best way not to get caught botting is to appear as human as possible.

but this is a good change. I wonder if they will add Skinning to the mix too?

Well, I was getting 2500 xp at lvl 72, but I'm rested, not sure if that is counting towards it or what, it seems you would get the same amount of xp as you would for killing a monster

I doubt they will add skinning with xp as well cause that would just be too easy...Though knowing blizzard I would not be suprised.

I'm not going to go routing for the blue post, but skinning is *not* going to give any extra XP as you already get for killing the mob. I remember them saying that Herbing / Mining had no xp gains in anyway apart from mobs you might run into.. Yet skinning would always give XP if in the correct range. Therefore they have added the xp to gathering profs to encourage people to take them.

The way it works is this: they've tied mob level to a certain gathering level. I'm in cata beta and its this way already. Skinning at 25 gives me 90exp each and herbalism (only for the heal at 80 lol....) gives me same amount, herbalism skill is at 209 and skinning is at 197

as a rested level 78 with max mining i've been getting 2100 for cobalt, 4200 saronite, and 4300 for titanium nodes IIRC.
