Ever considered GitHub?

any of the devs here ever consider using github? easier to use imho and would allow possible bug fixes with relative ease. and would be cool to add it to my watch list so i can readily see commits and if the changes effect me.

just a thought from a GH lover.

EDIT: guess this might be better in the dev forum, move if you'd like mods.

I disagree.

With SVN we checkout and get only the lastest version. With Github everyone has a complete copy of all the stuff the team made (every single change).
Users don't need a complete copy of the changelof the team made.

For releasing stuff SVN is much better. If you code for HB within a team you may be right, github would have some improvements.

By the way, i don't know any gui tool for github (windows). yes there are a lot console based applications
but if you want to use github releasing stuff for wow botters you need a gui client.
TortoiseGit , well its still need the console part; so may be too much for normal wow botter users ^^

msysgit has a gui...and i guess i'm ultimately talking from a developer perspective as i'd like to jump in and start messing around with some profiles. and the thought of being able to track most of these updates online is appealing to me as well. ultimately personal preference i suppose. just wanted to ask the question.

.gitignore is file you use to control your repository. Many people have from SVN to Git and to mercurial due to the speed, management, etc. Gti is SVN on steroids and Mercurial is awesome but too techy. For Git/Svn on windows get tortoisegit and toirtoisesvn enough said.

The Sourcecode is secret so nobody from Blizzard or outside of it, messes with us.
You can subscribe to the releaseforum, you could start updater.exe and let it check if there is a new release.

i'm not talking about for HB...i'm talking GH for profiles and CCs.
