Ban template:
Email from Blizzard:
Hi,
Super reliable (custom) profile with one nuiance: HB does not repair via Gina Mudclaw (a known problem). This never bothered me as I did not repair often -but on a lazy Sunday I decided to fix it, setting Claretta instead. Then in a moment of unforgivable complacency I did not monitor its impact on the profile!
Less than one hour later I come back to my PC and *heart sinks* the login screen says my account has been suspended (I do not recall if the word 'temporarily' was in there or not).
After 30 minutes of shatting ones pantaloons I receive an email from Blizzard: it's a 72hr ban. My heart resumes beating. My two other accounts (on the shared Battle.net) are still active -and in fact one was botting [GB] in Outlands (custom profile: Adamantite Ore and Fel Iron Ore) whilst my main was suspended! *This makes me consider that Blizzard do not cross examine your accounts, should you be reported/detected.* I think this notion makes sense, but it's just my personal feeling on why my other account was *still* botting whilst my main' was suspended. I have always held the belief that the main cause of suspension is through player reports' and I suspect 100% that this was the case.
I count myself lucky that this it is not a permanent ban (it is my first 'offence'). I will certainly not appeal the suspension as I do not want to draw unnecessary attention to my case. I can't forgive myself for the lapse in judgement because that I always *test test test* profiles and modify until I am 100% certain they can be left unattended for any certain amount of time: yet that's what I did, this one time, and I am caught promptly. I actually think it's a good thing, a wake up call that I'll heed and will serve as a reminder that complacency = danger. Even a simple change to a repair vendor to a totally solid profile can compromise pathing, and therefore reliability and ultimately compromise a bot. In no way do I hold HB or even GB responsible, nor am I scared off from botting, but rather this was a user error and a lapse in judgement -in my defence, one out of character! -but unforgivable nonetheless.
