EU banwave today?

My friend got banned today after just 2 days of use, reason was Abuse of the Economy. He appealed it with "I haven't done it, would like to see some proof etc." First he got a respond with that the ban would remain and case closed. He wrote again to prove his innocence, and received a new response of that they had opened his account after another investigation.

So basically I've seen alot of bans today, is this a possible banwave?

I wrote 200 letters and they unbanned 150.
