Its about time, no more AFK botters in BG's - I am happy if ppl are using CR's but they must actually be making a effort in the BG.
 
There's no way it'll be used on actual gameplay elements.

Putting captchas just to enter a battlegrounds is the worst idea ever and will definitely cause the game more harm than good.
They're trying to get people to play the game, not make it harder.

Chances are, it'll be used on the in-game store.

As always, the coin have two sides ;)

First - captcha popping on non-very active participants in BGs would encourage people to actually participate, and could probably increase the positive experience, while running BGs.

This could increase the trust in Blizzard, and increase subscriptions (maybe).

But - The past Blizzard history proves, that the usually just take premade solution from other mmo games or from 3rd party WoW addons and adopt it for awful functionality within the WoW client, so, these, who have witnessed similar captcha checks in other games, could share their experience.

Assumption - putting a capcha on LFR / raiding / dungeons is silly because people don't bot those (and by bot i mean unattended lazy botting without a CR).
The only other thing in game to capcha is BG's.

Putting it on the store or other stuff is kinda pointless because blizzard don't mind if bots spend money on their stores.

I don't see how a 4 digit capcha (for example) would be a pain in the *** to use when playing BG's, it will take a whole 5 seconds longer to queue, and 10-15 minutes of a bg with actual human players controlling toons.
 
I fully support botting, when a human is there to ensure its doing its job correctly, if you want to AFK bot then use a quest bot because it doesnt interfere with other players.
When I come home from a days work i have no desire to lose 5 bg's in a row because of afk useless bots that do jack ****.

what gives you the right to decide how ppl should bot though? if the buddy team allows it then they think its okay and that is all you need to know
 
I agree with the lad who said it was for in game purchases; it was purely added to the Legion Alpha Testing Realms, so no real sign of it coming live any time in the remote future on anything really.

i bot how i want and not how you want i bought the bot to my goals in wow
 
There are anti-captcha systems anyway, I use one for web report generators called deathbycaptcha, they usually have a cost but it is very minimal, and bossland could cache the results themselves as they use the services/as we fill them in. I believe the service I use does this with cheap indian labor to fill missing ones in.

Captchas are a deterrent for simple scripts but are ultimately imperfect.
 
If they put in captcha it would be like admitting their failure to detect bots by other means.
 
thats shows blizzard have hard times with honorbuddy gg anyway i quit since long long time BG botting playing only with CRs haha
