OK guys i would be interested to find out how many people out there find Click to Move (CTM) being automatically enabled by HB anoying and would like something done about it.

The offical HB stance is 'it would confuse people and they would not remember to re-enable CTM when needed and there are too few CR only botters out there to make it worth while to add this functionality.'

YES there are plugins that do this and even options within some botbases to enable/disable CTM but these all use LUA calls and after the latest scares regarding LUA i thought it was a good time to see just how many people out there dont want CTM enabled by default.

The issue atm for ppl that only use HB for their CR it goes like this :-

start game - CTM is off
start bot - CTM enabled
Start Botbase (or disable CTM using whatever method) - CTM off again

for what ever reason quit and restart HB maybe to change routine (or swapping toon within the game etc) - CTM back enabled

Re-disable CTM via any method - CTM off again

i use CTM all the time. ty.

go use a plugin as chinajade told you, instead of directly refusing to listen to his advice.

Hi, Suuzzee,

It is inappropriate to add this level of 'tunable' to the Honorbuddy configuration. It would only be used by a very small group of players, and many would forget to re-enable it when doing other things. Instead, your solution is to write a plugin to do what you seek. We believe that one already exists in the forums.

cheers,
chinajade

who said I was 'directly refusing to listen to his advice' I am just seeing how many think the same way who indeed knows if it is a 'small group of players' that would like this until a poll ha been carried out?

let CTM on, that's far less an issue than to forget activating it while boting

instead u can use a simple macro to toggle it,

/click InterfaceOptionsMousePanelClickToMove 1

should work.

I agree it can be easily toggled on/off that's not really the issue atm for ppl that only use HB for their CR it goes like this :-

Re-disable CTM via any method - CTM off again

This on/off on/off dance continues until you finally close down the game (usually with ctm disabled) so it can restart again the next time you play .......

for people that want CTM then fine for the rest of us a simple option 'enable/disable/ use game default setting' etc would be the solution. if u always want this enabled then fine don't alter the option within the settings for the rest of us we would have control over a feature the rest of u take for granted. no more tell tail on off on off of this setting no more LUA calls from your botbase/plugin sending the disable command etc etc

as already stated we do not plan to make any changes on this

My only interest in this is I worried having a macro would make me suspect, but I trust the staff to know what is and is not safe. I have a macro and use it.

I use a macro now and not a plugin or botbase option. its ok but very annoying when you forget and start running somewhere when you right click to turn and you forget to use the macro to disable CTM

My question is how does this relate to questing profiles that use CTM entirely. Are they safe to use anymore?

This would be completely pointless, just like the blunt scenario of "using" any of the following:

- 32bit WoW client
- Windowed mode
- Lowest graphic settings, etc.

The randomized config of the above settings are used by thousands, or even millions of regular WoW users and they are not connected to using or using not of 3rd party automation software at all!

You just need to look at the big picture, to be able to realize it. Anyone, who had coded or supported software product, focused at wide area of customers can confirm it.

The people all around the planet tend to use crazy variations of hardware, operating systems and custom client settings, and that fact usually deliver very wild and randomized client configurations at the end.

The assumption that having CTM On or simply using the 32bit WoW client would automatically flag you as bot user is very naive and immature, indeed.

+1.

Without getting into the "Flag" debate it would be nice to have a more controlled functionality when it comes to CTM. I turn it off right after I hit start..its annoying, but I do it because I have to. Would a setting that allowed me to disable it permanently be a nice feature - Yes! - Do I have to have one? Well obviously not seeing how I've been without one all this time, but the convenience of having one would be greatly appreciated. More importantly what bothers me more is the lack of certain HB team members to show consideration for a simple addition (that apparently there is already code for if there is a plugin....just sayin) when clearly there is a significant interest in it. I think the poll was a good idea and I feel that the moderators should be more willing to discuss options/features that aren't currently included in their program instead of steadfastly refusing to consider anything additional. Whether you agree or don't agree...doesn't matter...this is just my personal opinion on the matter.

Agreed! the whole idea of the poll was to gauge opinion. I was told by Chinajade ' It would only be used by a very small group of players' I was curious about that because the small group of people I know that bot would all like more control over this setting.

its no 'big deal' if u forget u just feel a 'fool' running to the boss by mistake, just click your macro or whatever and boom the setting is off, but likewise if indeed we did get control over this then again it wouldn't be a big deal if CTM was off when u started a botbase that needed it, one click of a macro and boom you have it enabled again, But if we had control then if u only used a botbase that required CTM then you would never disable it, if you only use a CR then you probably would never enable CTM. if you are a botter that uses both then you are used to enabling/disabling this setting so 'forgetting to changeit' wouldn't really be an issue either as you'd be used to it.

I have been using HB for years (as you can see by when I registered, and I was using it a good 6 months before I bothered to register) its a great bot, infact imho the best there is on the market.

Is a little harsh, its all about 'control and choice' just because YOU cant see any use in it doesn't mean others wouldn't find it very useful. indeed your attitude about this is 'very naive and immature' imho, I don't see any point so your all wrong and i'm right attitude isn't helpful ever.
