Drop Mining for Inscription?

having dropped herbalism for mining at 525, you're better off with druid + herbalism, you don't need to shift from flight form, which is a small godsend.
you can buy everything you need from the AH + vendor for levelling inscription, it will be horrifically expensive for the mats, just like leatherworking. at some points, you may need to farm mats that won't be on the AH.
... i can say, inscription is linked to the AH completely, from level 300 onwards, you make too many glyphs you can't vendor, and only other scribes will buy the pigments and inks you make, if you want to just grind inks, you can do this, but they just don't make a lot of gold unless you grind MoP herbs for starlight inks and every day, log in, and make the DMC cards for MoP.
idk. there's easier ways to make gold, ie once you start inscription, you have ~500 items you can't sell on the AH.
if you have multiple alts, scribes make interesting toons to shuffle with (herbs to inks to offhands/fortune cards/darkmoon trinket cards) but a miner/JC is easier, herbalism/alchemist, miner/engineer, etc. every server is different and what makes money on one, often doesn't on the other.
you can work this out with shuffle economics i.e. ore to gems to JC items, skins to LW items, herbs to flasks and herbs to inks,
don't trust wowuction's values for what's profitable, and you can work out what would be better with those kinds of shuffle math formulas. or just browse The Undermine Journal for each profession and on each server.
