Does upgrading CPU to 6 Cores make sense?

Hi Buddies,

I am currently using an AMD Phenom II x4 955 CPu which runs at 4x3.2GHz.
I can run up to 15 wows at the same time on my Computer but then CPU load reaches 90-95%, whats the point where I have to stop cause there need to be some % left for occasional spikes.

My question is:
Do you think I will be able to run more WoWs if I upgrade my CPU to a 6 core CPU?
I thought about the AMD Phenom II X6 1090T which runs a t 6x3.2Ghz.

Following things are not an option for me:

- Switching to an Intel CPU
- Building a second Computer

I dont want to know if there would be a better option...I just want to hear if and perhaps an estimation how many more clients Id be able to run if I upgrade the CPU.

Sorry for bad english...not my native language.

Thanks

OC the 6core and you can maybe do an extra 10 if your ram can handle it.

haha awesome, now I dont have to make a thread.
I was going to order that CPU today but then...nah I?ll check with my "buddys" at the forum first. :D

6 cores would definitely improve it, also do take into account Windows.

4 cores @ 15 bots, say 1 core for windows, 5 bots take up 1 core (guesstimate)

so yeah 10 more bots would make sense, assuming you had the ram. 4GB's can run windows 7 + 10 bots (GB). GB2 will run you CPU power and some ram. But if you have 16 GB DDR3 you'll be fine, 24 is great, and 32 is pwnface :)

I have 8GB atm but upgrading would be no problem.
I just wasnt really sure about the CPU. 10 Bots more would really be worth the investment,
Just wasnt quite sure if 6 cores are woking good :)

get water cooling and OC the cpu, OC the ram since you'll still have airflow and won't have to worry about cpu heat and you should be fine

but if you're just going to up it from 4 to 6, worth the cash, sell the quad or get another box to stick it in

Kickazz, do you know any DDR3 16gb RAM that you could recommend? Not too expensive tho. :P

I've buyed an AMD. AMD 1100T Black Edition.
6x 3,4ghz ( not overclocked yet. No need at this time :D )
6x WoW only HB2 ( GB2 ) = 15% Usage

^^ It's usually cheaper to buy singles these days vs duo / quad, but look around. It is decent ram
Yeah, but consider you're loosing ability to use Dual/Tripple-Channel Ability, course single RAM-Modules ain't synced, course that's what the extra money the KITs cost is for...

im running 9 bots with ease on a 6core phenom asus but memory is close to choking at 10 bots. I have 8gb i am gonna upgrade to 16 gb so that i can add 3 more bots and still use the comp for other stuff.

RAM is more important I guess. I use my Alienware laptop for botting, I run 5 clients at the same time and my CPU usuage is at around 15% and my RAM is around 80%.

I have an i7 920M processor at 2GHZ (turbo boost to 3.4ghz) and 4GB DDR3 1333MHZ, I also have an ATi 5870M GPU but I have underclocked it to about 10% of what it can the whole time, otherwise the fans make too much noise.

You can still run dual / triple channel with singles kits. They just have to be exact same modules to work. The kits are exactly the same as the singles in most cases. They just haven't been "tested" together.

yep, exactly why when I buy ram, i buy the same ones but a few of them.

Newegg had a 2x4gb set on there for as much as i could get 4x4gb or more.

I was like wtf

I just got the 1090 OC'd to 4.2Ghz with water cooling. The 1090 stock fan sucks balls though, very noisy get a new one with the chip.
What % CPU Are you running with all those bots on your 4 core??

Hmm youre doing something wrong...Im running 10 bots with 5.7GB of RAM

Im running 70-85% CPU with 10 Bots+GB2 on my Phemon 2 X4 955 (4x3.2Ghz)
