Alright, as some of you may remember I got my account closed and got it back. Anyway, I wanna level a toon again. Just wondering, if I quest and babysit the risk of getting caught is low (I botted for 15+ hours gathering/bg before so clearly it threw flags) anyway If I just use HB to quest and watch it and only run for 3 hours can blizzard see that it's running in the background or is it a scare tactic?

Blizzard could implement a method to detect the bot with ease but it's not implemented so no.

Its rarely about what a person or company does these days..

Its about what they're caught doing :-(

In duhmerica anyway ;-)

They haven't been caught & publicized doing such things recently no..

Just think about it why the would any of their low payd employees break the law?

Why would any of the high payd bosses bother with it....

Blizzard Entertainment:World of Warcraft End User License Agreement
Consent to Monitor.
WHEN RUNNING, THE GAME MAY MONITOR YOUR COMPUTER'S RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY (RAM) FOR UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTY PROGRAMS RUNNING CONCURRENTLY WITH THE GAME. AN "UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTY PROGRAM" AS USED HEREIN SHALL BE DEFINED AS ANY THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE PROHIBITED BY SECTION 2. IN THE EVENT THAT THE GAME DETECTS AN UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTY PROGRAM, THE GAME MAY (a) COMMUNICATE INFORMATION BACK TO BLIZZARD, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION YOUR ACCOUNT NAME, DETAILS ABOUT THE UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTY PROGRAM DETECTED, AND THE TIME AND DATE; AND/OR (b) EXERCISE ANY OR ALL OF ITS RIGHTS UNDER THIS AGREEMENT, WITH OR WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE TO THE USER.

Stop with the mindless quote the Blizz EULA!
It have been explained here basicly every week, over and over again:

BLIZZARD CANNOT SCAN OUTSIDE THE WOW.EXE DEDICATED MEMORY, OR THEY WILL BREAK THE PRIVACY OF THEIR CUSTOMERS, LEADING TO BREAKING MULTIPLE LAWS CROSS USA, CANADA, UK, EU, AND PUT THEIR OWN CORPORATION IN RISK WITH CLASS LAWSUITS!

Caps out!

Chill dude, thats exactly what I thought until I did a quick scan of their terms.
Posted for everyone to read themselves.

This and this alone. They have been threatened in several countries with lawsuits if they were ever to implement their EULA statement. They are constantly being monitored on this as well. If they were ever to implement anything that looks outside of their own memory space, they'd be caught faster than a slowball in Junior league (probably makes no sense but then again I don't know anything about baseball :P).

- Has never happened
- Ain't happenin'
- Ain't ever gunna happen.

And on Croga's note, we're closing this thread.

The topic has been discussed thousands of times already, and just more rehashing of the same old information and opinions. And the discussions usually devolve into a flamefest.
Just search the forum for "EULA", "TOS", "WARDEN', "SCAN".

cheers,
