What is PayPal?
PayPal is a third-party payment provider. World of Warcraft players who also have PayPal accounts can now use the PayPal payment option (instead of a credit card or game card) to set up a recurring payment for their one-, three-, or six-month World of Warcraft subscriptions.
How do I activate PayPal as a method of payment for my World of Warcraft subscription?
To use PayPal to pay for your subscription, simply select the PayPal option on the subscription setup screen. You will be required to log in to your PayPal account and agree to the Terms of Service. If you do not have a PayPal account, you will have the option to create one.
*Attention - Payment validation will take approximately 15-20 minutes before you will be able to login to the game with a new subscription. Once this process is complete, you will be able to start playing!
How do I change my subscription from PayPal to credit card or game card?
The Account Management page allows you to add, remove, or change payment information on the account. Options for modifying your payment information are available under the billing information section of the account summary page in Account Management.
I have a PayPal account. Why is PayPal not listed as an available method of payment?
For security reasons, the PayPal payment option may be disabled on an account. If this is the case, the PayPal option for payment will not be displayed in Account Management. Please contact Billing & Account Services if you have any questions regarding your account's eligibility for PayPal.
I'm trying to pay for my World of Warcraft subscription with PayPal, but my login for PayPal isn't working.
If you are unable to log in to PayPal to complete your payment transaction you will need to either contact PayPal directly or visit their website to recover or modify your login information. When logging in to PayPal to complete a payment, you will be redirected to the PayPal website. For security reasons, Blizzard cannot modify, support, or recover PayPal login information.
Where can I see my past PayPal transactions for my World of Warcraft subscription?
Any past subscription or character transfer charges made using PayPal or any other payment method can be viewed by logging in to Account Management. This is available under "Billing Information."
What happens if I have a recurring payment set up using PayPal and I don't have the funds?
If you do not have sufficient funds available in your PayPal account, your recurring PayPal payment will not complete. Your World of Warcraft account will become "frozen" (inactive) until you choose a working payment method to reactivate it.
I've never used PayPal. How do I set up a PayPal account?
In order to create a PayPal account, you will need to visit the PayPal website or contact PayPal support staff directly for assistance.
Is PayPal available to all World of Warcraft players worldwide?
At this time, only players with North American World of Warcraft accounts can use PayPal to pay for their subscriptions.
I have questions about my PayPal account balance, or adding or transferring funds there.
Any questions about adding funds, transferring funds, or checking available funds on your PayPal account need to be directed to PayPal support. Blizzard support staff cannot assist with PayPal-account inquiries of any kind.
Can I use PayPal to pay for purchases made through Blizzard's online store?
The PayPal payment option is not available for use with Blizzard's online store at this time.
Will there be tax on PayPal transactions?
Yes, all applicable taxes apply to PayPal transactions.
