Do you need a SSD for 16+ Bots?

What Are The Benefits Of SSD For botting?

Can I have both SSD and Reg?

Would it serve any purpose to Have both?

The bulk of space would be on Diablo Licenses which Im assuming would need to be installed on the SSD to get the extra performance?

I guess I really dont know alot about SSD and how it effects system performance and botting.

Any advice would be helpful.

a 500GB SSD is like 300$ and I was really hoping not to have to make that leap.

With 5 Diablo Licenses im currently at 122gb Disc Usage on my Spinning Hard Drive.

Does this mean I need 380-400gb for 16 diablo licenses?

This is for a custom build of 2 computers.

Current Purchases.

CPU - I7 3770k x2

Mobo - Gigabyte Z77-UD5H x2

Ram - 32gb G Skill 1833ghz x2

I would also be interested in video card advice, Power Supply Advice and CPU Cooler Advice (planning to overclock 4.5-4.7)

Thanks In Advance!

The only thing you're really gonna benefit from is quicker load times.. I've never really seen a reason to warrant purchasing an SSD just for botting. I'd invest more money into a video card or a cooling system so you can overclock your components to get more bang for your buck.

You can use both. You would typically use a SSD for your OS and any data heavy games (Battlefield, SWGO, etc). I run a 128GB SSD with my OS on it and any games that suffer from data access speeds. Diablo 3 takes me like 1-2 seconds to load a game with a 7200 RPM HDD.

My current HDD setup: 128 GB OCZ SSD, 3x 2 TB HDD.

also , u can get a very small ssd, and i read somewhere on this forum theres a way to only have 1 diablo3 folder, and open multiple accounts with it.

Through ISOBoxing/VMWare. I don't feel the hassle is worth the money out of pocket IMO. There's not a significant enough of a difference to warrant the headache and cost.

don't forget to get windows profesinal windows home premium only gives you access to 8gbs, windows 7 ultimate is the next cheapest that gives access to all ur ram

Also, I picked up my "legit" copy of windows ultimate from windows-office-store.com (I think that was the name) for like $30.00 lol. Buy at your own risk here. I've never had any issues, but I've only ordered from them a few times and it was close to a year ago.

Would not recommend getting a SSD for the sole purpose is flash memory burns out very quickly when looking at constant write activity.. i.e. DB and Plugin Logs write a ton of information...

Many of the newer SSD's have employed a new technique, can not recall the name of it at the moment, that attempts to alleviate this problem. But the problem still exists...

Ultimately your better off with a WD Raptor if your looking for consistent speed over time...

As for a Power Supply, I would recommend any Corsair Line PSU 650W and up....

Also the Corsair Liquid CPU Cooler, are extremely easy to use water cooling systems, simple to install and maintain.... Should keep the temps under control with the OC...

Which Is Better Crucial M4 or OCZ Agility 4?

Both 6gbp's and 256gb

What do you think about.

128GB SSD For OS.

WD Raptor 1tb For Diablo 3 Licenses And DB?

Or Is it better to go 256gb SSD All the way?

Or Option C - Super cheap Several TB Spinning Drive and a WD Raptor 1tb for Diablo / db licenses.

Im torn Here.

The Price is going to be around 200$ Either Way I go.

I just want to know what is better performance wise.

I plan to 24/7 all 16, if that helps.

Seeing alot of people saying "If you 24/7 you need to go WD Spinning Drives" Usually pointing out Western Digital Red or Raptor.

But also see alot of people saying "Spinning HD Is Crap. SSD is vastly superior for botting" All saying 256gb is all you need.

Who to trust?

Hoping to get the hard drives purchased tonight. Would help to have some clarification.

I have spared no expense so far. I dont want to go With Spinning Drives If They Are Going To Limit My Ability to run 16+.

But I DEFINATELY dont want to pay more for SSD if It is going to actually limit my ability to run 16+ bots.

Also How Much Is The performance Boost for OS on SSD? If I get Insane speed with That I might be interested in a smaller SSD for OS if it turns out SSD is not best for D3 and DB.

Not sure why you insist on blowing a bunch of money on SSDs for botting lol.... Over time a SSD will actually limit your performance. The biggest thing you get out of purchasing a SSD is boot up time. The time to start your computer up is almost instantanious, which is why a lot of people purchase a SSD. Buy a 7200 HDD for botting and a SSD for load up times. Also, remember that there are a few things that you should never do to an SSD unless you want to fuck it up - one being trying to format a SSD.

Make sure to research before you just slap it in your computer and call it a day.

Alright, I am confident at this point that you are correct in saying that an SSD will Not help for botting.

So I have eliminated 256 SSD as an option.

I do want to have a small SSD for OS. exclusively for boot time.

How small can I go?

is the WD Raptor Going To be Better Than a 1tb WD Red for 24/7 Botting?

What is the best Spinning hard drive for botting? or does it really not matter?

Is there any truth to those saying that 24/7 botting requires a specific kind of hard drive for best performance in the long run?

Realistically I wouldn't worry about the HDD any 7200RPM drive is going to do you fine.... Just make sure you have space....

Once the bots launch its all CPU/RAM from there with a light load on your GPU...

Just make sure everything meshes and spend the few extra dollars you have to get the best mobo in the batch.. Its the one thing you cant upgrade down the road when you want to use the PC for botting other games...

If its going to be strictly a botting PC, I personally would go the Dual Xeon server route with 7 Professional... Might want to look into it before going i7 desktop route....

I only say this because server boards and XEON's have much larger backbones and much more stable under heavy loads...

you could always go overkill and do a raid array with a bunch of SSD's. lol

or better yet get 64gb of system ram, and make a ramdisk.

All Rediculousness Aside, I do think I want to blow money on a 256gb SSD.

Crucial M4 or OCZ Agility?

How long does it take for a SSD to lose performance? if its longer than 1 year I consider it never as it will be replaced by then.
