Everyone gets banned eventually. Usually its one of the following:
a. Abuse of Economy <-- Culprit AuctionHouse account, you sold too much in AH or someone reported you for undercutting
b. Botting <-- Culprit Bot account, you only get banned if someone reports you
c. Gold Selling <-- Gold seller vanilla account you sold gold with, these are 100% guaranteed bans and any IP associated with it
d Any random reason <-- Rare to get banned for anything else but the above three.

Questions:
1. seeing as I've been botting since vanilla and haven't been banned yet, I reject your hypothesis that everyone gets banned.
2. I reject your statements as to what gets you banned how.
3. I reject your hypothesis that IP address has anything to do with it. Bossland says it doesn't and Blizzard has stated many times that IP has nothing to do with being banned.
4. As long as you have 1 internet connection with a router, a VPN is not going to cover up anything for you. If you want a VPN to cover something up, you'll have to VPN to a remote server that will then give you access to the Internet. Which means you'll either have to pay someone to give you a VPN endpoint, or set one up yourself.
