Did anyone ever end up getting unbanned from the massive Archeology banwave in 2011

I called Blizzard four or five times, pleaded my case, ended up giving up.

I'm guessing nobody got unbanned?

there isnt a banwave dude no one got banned just that you got banned doesend mean its a banwave remember that maybe u botted to mutch evryday reduce thebot time.
 
After reading an interview with Blizzard GMs when your banned for Archaeology it's a perma ban.
 
Wasnt that banwave for Pirox not Honorbuddy? Pretty sure it was due to some quirky way that Pirox arch bot functioned that made it easily detectable without false positives.

Just browing around and i came across this post.

I can say first had that this was a ban wave. I got banned back in Feb of 2011 for Archaeology botting with Pirox Bots. They way it worked is the hack created a Channel 12 characters long consisting of purely random letters and numbers. It ten noted IN that channel the Dig sites on that continent. So when you were watching your screen for the first time it made you shit your pants seeing all these dig sites show up with coordinates and times til arrival in what LOOKED LIKE GENERAL CHAT! then you look to your left in the channel name and its like "oahsd128iad". Any who, Blizzard was able to see this apparently. So they waited about a months time, and collected thousands of accounts who were using this technique and sent out a massive ban wave. A kind of shock n awe to scare people who Bot or are thinking of botting. Saying thousands might be a bit of a stretch. Several hundreds at the LEAST imo. I know this because i have several friends get banned as well. Also being in the PvP picture, Going on Arenajunkies and seeing the general forum BLOW UP in "WTF BANNED!?" and "WHO ELSE WAS BANNED??" posts was kinda funny.

long story short. for banned quit for a year and came back now im doing it again with HB.

EDIT: and as for asking if anyone got their accounts back... i highly doubt it. I called a handful of times with excuses/pleas/begs/etc to no avail. A couple of posts said they did but who knows. I even went as far as contacting the BBB to get them to get my acct back. It took 2 weeks for my submission to get submitted then to get sent to Blizzard, for them to send it back to BB and then to me again only for the reply to say in lesser words "You were caught fair n square. Done lie, your acct suspension will not be reversed EVER. its our property. yada yada terms and licensing violated blah blah"

Nope, then again i sent them a picture of a chocolate cake as a ban appeal
 
I used Archa with pirox by the bannwave but i was not banned with my toon. Lucky!

you mean ban wave about archa from pyrox bot ?
Yes it was a ban wave cause pyrox write code in /s and blizzard scan that and make a ban wave

I try many time by mail, phone, but impossible to get back my toons....

Why would you contact the BBB?? You were in the wrong and you still lied and wasted peoples time. The BBB is for people with real problems not people who were hacking and got caught.
 
User A: "Oh my god I was banned! Banwave alert system has been put on RED level!"

User B: "OMG I was banned too!, total banwave!"

User A: "What bot were you using??

User B: Pirox of course!...

User A: OMG ME TOO!

Group Consensus: Better post on HB forums a year later about it!
 
Got banned also at that time using Pirox and Archaelogy bot lost my main acc. I tried to appeal with different e-mails and tickets and they always end tell that that dispute is closed and they won't look furtgher into it.

Last time i tried to unban was like 1 month ago with same result. I don't think i'll ever get this account back. Had spectral tiger on it :(

I was about to use paid service for a good letter to send to Blizzard but they don't even read my tickets. They just cancel them.
"We have in the past already contacted you about these accounts and have also informed you that the decision was correct and would not be overturned.".

So my account can't get unbanned for sure. If anyone got unbanned even after getting that response from Blizzard contact me.

This "Archeology banwave" keeps coming up. I've read many theories about why every got banned. I used Pirox at the time and was a terrible offender letting my main char running for literally 10+ hours a day while I was at work. I'm honestly unsure of how Blizzard is even catching people. I've violated just about every rule I've ever read about botting, (I'm not bragging just saying I'm super lazy and don't want to buy another account.) I bot with my main account, I sometimes do it for way longer than you should, and I flood the AH with shit I bot for. Now Pirox offered some interesting plug-ins such as the Teleport plug-in, This was used for Archeology and I was honestly surprised at the amount of people that actually used it and thought "Gee I never get caught botting why on earth would they notice me teleporting all over the place." They also had a "Rapid gathering" Plug-in that was basically a speed hack and the number of people that used that was almost triple to the teleport plug-in they told everyone to stop using but left up for downloading.

One thing I have noticed here is the amount of repeat offenders posting that they just got banned again for the 10+ time. I'd start there and keep looking, I'm also fairly sure people are running bots during Blizzards operating hours. just a thought.

Blizzard operates 24/7, If you ever look on the job applications for GM's you have to be available basically 24/7. Also A lot of how blizzard detects you is automated or user reported.
 
Yes, I was unbanned sometime in the last 6 months after much pestering. They apparently got sick of dealing with me.

Leveled 9 chars with Archeo from 70 to 85 and didn't get ban. Dunno what you are talking about ! Btw it's not a pirox forum :s
