DH Vaut?

I dont understand whats going on with dh vault. DB just makes dh vault on the sight of a monster one hit then vault away. And whenever its engaged with elite it just vault through like the whole map and argo everything and keeps dying that way. I changed the setting around with kiting range low/high and it doesnt help. Is there a way anyone know how to help?
