i used to bot hard back in wrath/cata, and by hard i mean literally retard status. 24/7 for months straight, maybe one or two breaks to let my comp rest lol.


recently i came back to see if its worth botting again, but it seems like blizzard has REALLLLLLLLY *****ed down on botting.

how is gatherbuddy in terms of its banrates? has blizzard since then manifested some sort of super anti-bot method? i checked the forum a month ago and bans were nuts, they still seem that way.

usually from my experience there's a massive banwave, then everything settles down, and you could go back to botting relentlessly after that.

but... devs are working on it diligently. they have new 'tripwire' that detects warden detecting us. [my version of how its working]
another tool is the buddy profile randomizer. google it. there is also a plug-in that goes with it that can change randomized profiles on a set schedule.

bot safe, bot slow. keep an eye on your bot.
 
I am running a gatherbuddy2 bot 24/7 right now for 2 weeks as of today (80% kun lai ore, 20% votfw ore+herbs), I expect a ban in the near future but we'll see.

Tripwire isn't new. It was used in the days of Glider and has been in place since HB was created.

Also yes, it seems Blizzard is *****ing down.
However, people are foolish to believe that they can continue botting like there's no tomorrow like they did in the past.
Times are a changin.

If you want to be competitive and have your accounts safe, you need to be creative.

Absolutely, no Question. And a possibly big chance to be creative will be 5.4's "super realms". My 24/7 bot is just there to test the waters and tell me how high the current threat is. In no way should people think it's ok to go 24/7 GB2 now!

sorry for the misinformation. a better way to phrase that would have been, 'tripwire is new to me, i've been here for 6 months and this is the first i've seen threads mentioning it being actually "tripped".'

Thanks to bambam for helping us to know the right info from the silly late night ramblings.
