Cross faction AH. How does it work?

I've read that there are a few auction houses that the Alliance and Horde share. So if I post an item on one of those AH's, does that mean that item will show in every auction house on the server? Or are they more stand alone and the items will only be shown in the AH they are posted on? I dont know how this system works so looking for some more info on this.

Items posted in cross faction AH only show up in cross faction AH.

There are neutral auction houses usable by both factions

Keep in mind that there is a 15% transaction fee on the sell price. Best way would be to transfer items for 1c, but than you really have to be fast so nobody else gets the item.

Ok, the reason Im wondering is cus I think I chose the wrong faction on my server. It looks like 99% of the pop is Alliance and Im playing Horde... The Horde auction house is completely dead so I wont have much luck selling there. Do the cross faction AH have as much activity as the rest of the AH's? I haven't checked those yet on my server but I can imagine they're not.

Usually the neutral AH activity is nothing compared to the ordinary auction houses. People use them to transfer (or sell) items that the other faction wouldnt have otherwise (pets mainly).

You can pay $30, or $25, cant remember, on the Battle.net website and change from Horde to Alliance
