Crazy Memory Usage

So, recently I decided to try and see if the bot works on my other, older computer and it seemed to work pretty well... at first. But I'm running into an odd problem. The bot very suddenly starts using more and more memory the longer it runs until it eventually consumes ~ double the memory that SWTOR does (about 2 gigs!!!) and crashes (even though the computer's capacity is only at ~70%). I'd ideally like to use this computer to run the bot in the future but it only seems to work for around 30 minutes before this happens. I get perfect FPS up until that point. System specs:

OS: Windows XP srvs pack 3
Memory: 4 gigs
Processor: 2.41 ghz

If there's any other info you need that'll help I can provide it. Anyone know what's going on?

Hi Jests,

This is definitely more of a problem on systems with less memory and/or running Windows XP. I recommend trying Memory Cleaner. It's probably the best program of its type available (its author now works at Microsoft). You can set it to do garbage collection on tasks or clean the memory cache either once every five minutes or whenever usage exceeds 80%. It's a godsend for SWToR.

Cheers,

Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be helping the problem. The bot just floods itself like I described above, gets cleaned, but stays crashed. Anyone know what's going on? Is this maybe an XP specific problem?

That's certainly possible. Is there any chance you can get Win 7 x86 installed on it?

Maybe. I'm not sure if that'll run on such an old system, it might not even be able to handle a 64 bit OS.

The other problem is it's my Wife's computer >.< I'll mess with it tomorrow and see if the problem persists and if it does maybe I'll try to talk her into putting windows 7 on it.

Just a suggestion but maybe try turning the logging as low as it can go spam wise. Seems as though something is building up maybe its the log.

I'll give that a try when I'm testing the bot today to see if the problem persists. That would be pretty shocking if a log could grow that big in size that fast (that's what she said) but it certainly couldn't hurt to try it out.

The logs can pass 1GB and beyond fairly quickly. I actually bot with mine set to "None" and it still happens. I suspect the setting has more to do with what is displayed than what is saved.

Just an update, I tried both a new planet and turning the log off at the same time.

The bot stalled twice in an hour, but never crashed... I'm going to keep messing with it over the next few days here and post what I find in case anyone else is having the same problems.
