Crashes every 5 minutes - possible fix?

Okay, this might just work for me but I've been plagued with this since last Thursday and I think I've finally managed to troubleshoot it. At the end of the day, it was nothing that hasn't been written here before: I apparently needed to (re)install .NET 4.5.1.

Here's the thing though: first of all I could have sworn I'd done it already but either I was mistaken or my install mysteriously disappeared. In addition, BuddyWizard does not install 4.5.1, just 4.0. I got my 4.5.1 directly from the Microsoft website, if it matters.

I also performed a clean install from scratch (following the instructions in the Chest Runner 1.3 R profile thread) but I doubt this had anything to do with it since I had tried it before with no success.

That was yesterday evening. This morning I booted, fired up D3 and db, and aside from the login issues everything worked like a charm (going on 40 minutes now). Fingers crossed...
 
Tony, with all due respect, you might want to read the posts before you copy-paste. I'm actually proposing a fix to an oft-reported issue that, without pointing any fingers, db staff hasn't been a great help with. It might work for others (hope it does!) or it might not, but at least it did for me so it's worth a shot.
 
i am asking for the log files that shows the problem before you fixed it ofc (common sense :) )
so we can track down issues,that not all,but some users getting and the fix is not common for everyone

Ah. Well, those were in my other thread I made when I ran into the issue, a few pages down.

The fix seems to work for at least a handful of other people; Worth a shot if you're having the issue.

Thank you Ilm. I've been going through several threads also and telling people to update their OS so that it will pick up the latest .net framework. I had thought the installer would be checking and get the latest .net framework, so I'm really glad you pointed that out. This problem had me stumped for quite a few days. I think it may have actually been one of your posts that caused me to go looking for W7 updates (which include the update to the file you linked).

You're a good person :)
 
Thanks man, I just updated my NET Framework to 4.5.2. (since the automatic update which included only essential security updates for me) and now DB is running a bit better. Hope no crashes anymore (hasn't crashed in over 20 min now!) :)
