CP 0 IV 0 - What's this about?

Sometimes, every now and again, the bot catches a Pokemon and indicates it as "CP 0 IV 0", and promptly transfers it.

Since I'm fairly certain there's no such thing as a zero level Pokemon, what's going on and what does it mean?

Well it's not a softban because all catching before and after works perfectly fine, as does Pokestop looting. Must be a bug, but I'd hate to be transferring high level Pokemon because the bot sees it as zero.
