Combat Routines seem mediocre

So, once upon a time, I remember being able to rely on finding free to use combat routines which worked well.

They were custimizable, effective, and they supported afk bot bases like bgbuddy.

But it seems like these days everything requires you to buy a premium version. I've tried multiple class routines, specifically healing on a resto druid with BGBuddy, balance druids, other classes like ret paladins and hunters Nothing other than singular seems to even work with the afk bot routines, and its veryyy baseline.

I wouldn't mind donating a bit to use a "premium" routine, but I can't envision spending 10-15 EUR for a class routine that only works with ONE spec when I play so many classes. That a lot and it seems like everything is right around that price.

I'd be really curious to see the stats for developers about how much they make off their routines (how many subscribers they have) vs how much time they spend supporting it.

I'm learning to program now and will be learning C#, very interested to try to develop my own routines. I'm also an alt-whore and like options.

BGBuddy doesn't really work. I sure as hell wouldn't afk with it with ANY routine.. purchased or not.

Well - personally, I find it very annoying when people that give free profiles that work avarage, and good profiles for money. When they notice many people spending money on the good profile - they tend to drop any support for the avarage one.
._.

Could be that i'm a cheap b*** but I tend to get max profit - and paying for a profile that's not even finished or proven it's worth is just plain silly to me.

Many free routines work quite well. TuanHa's are quite nice last time I checked. BGBuddy notoriously gives a sub-par user experience due to some very odd behaviors which shouldn't be accredited to the routine.

The problem with free -vs- paid (and im not putting any weight behind either) is that the developers who make free profiles / routines / plugins are doing it for just that... free. They put a lot of their own private time and what are they getting in return? 99.9% of the time the 'users' of the product do nothing but bitch and complain, demand immediate fixes or specific changes.

At the end of the day, if I'm putting in work for something.. and I'm getting nothing in return for it, what is the point? The guys I use (Millz, TuanHA, BrodieMan, etc) all have free, slimmed down versions of their paid stuff that work just fine. If you WANT to.. you can purchase them. But you don't have to.

In today's game, I really don't expect people to put out stuff for free anymore. The only people making money off of this are the HB team (no offense intended), and they don't condone the advertisement of paid stuff on here. I can respect that, those who have paid systems respect that. Singular seems to work very well for what it is intended for. IF your looking to go above and beyond that... well.. you know your options.

Gah, I really miss the "Like" feature on the forums. So many posts that I've liked, but can't click "Like" anymore. :( DX123's post is one of those.
