Combat Routines and Channelled skills

Bit out of the loop on this and as bot is offline I cannot check. How is OR with handling the new channelled spells? Does it still act like it is constantly clicking (thus constantly interrupting) or does it handle it by simulating holding the button down these days? Is there any others that could do it?

I'm asking for short term because I'd like to level a Blade Flurry character, but also long term with the new channelling-trigger gem for 2.5, where we may potentially see some strong meta clear speed (blight/ED/contag, incin/romiras/discharge etc).

Cheers guys.

that has changed for a while now... it holds the key and release it when you call it.

Awesome. Cheers Tony.

So SR, incinerate and Blight should be easy to use then. Not sure how the bot will go with taking advantage of Blade Flurry's secondary damage given the need to release the channel to proc the explosion, as it is quite important to the dps of the skill. Can anyone comment whether it would be possible to get the routine to release key when we've reached 6 stacks then begin channeling again?

Well its probably going to be meta this league(blade flurry) if they don't nerf it, so i think including it into the combat routine would make a lot of ppl happy but then idk how hard that will be since its a new type of skill.

Well there is already flameblast logic (not sure how well or if it works), wouldn't it be similar to that? ie hold down until x stacks release, do it again if monsters. For blade flurry would just need to check for mobs while stacking (might already do this). For the charges and stopping at 6 or whatever you set it to. The main difference I can think of between the skill is blade flurry can kill things before reaching max stacks. Flameblast only did dps once it was released.

I don't understand why people are afraid for those new skills, what's the different with others? bullshit ray is an incinerate with higher range, and the other have similar mechanics as existing spells. Nothing new. And anyway some of them are gonna get nerfed soon if GGG don't want to break the breach league.

Ya, it should be neat, from Ziggyd's video it sounded like it was supposed to be similar to reave. Which it is, if u get 8 stacks of reave with aoe scaling you can 1 shot pretty much everything. So the difference in power etc to Reave isn't crazy... according to him. Will have to wait and see, I think it could use a nerf on the initial hits, but the spike be larger... but that's my opinion. Also lots of people testing it had good gear to show crazy clears, you can clear pretty fast on most skills with solid gear currently.

Yep, excepted that you forgot to expose the fact the new skills are "NEW", which makes them way more attracting than old ones. AANNNNNND in addition to this they doesn't seem balanced. which is bad few weeks before new league. Everyone gonna rush blade fury builds... because it's easy to gear and have decent clear speed.

Rory did say in the latest podcast that Blight came out way undertuned and he's going to look into it. I also got the impression from the podcast that Blade Flurry won't be hit too much with the nerf bat, but we'll see I guess. However, 0.6s spell casts while channelling is going to be pretty good for clear.

Jealous of anyone who has managed to get a Cospri's early this league though. The clear from shield charge/discharge is insane.

Did some testing last night with Scorching Ray. How the bot was using the skill was weird, as it would stand and channel at some points, but other times (more often IIRC) it would spam the skill, which for SR meant it would never start channelling besides a tiny blob in front of the character. So it would seem SR isn't viable currently with OR. Haven't checked out any other routines yet though.
