Hello my lovely people, could somebody care to share experiences or give some insights for beginner.

How did you started coding and what's motivating you? Do you made career out of it? What platform is most beneficial to begin with, and language to start with. Is there a specific learning structure that I could use perhaps. I really want to expand and grow.

Take care

Hi there, Altec here, I started coding back in highscool in my computer class with Visual Basic. I played RuneScape and built an engine similar to it back in the day. I had a final project due, and at the time o was playing a game called Beach Head, similar to Normandy events in the world war, well I created a game where a hostile faction drops paratroopers, tanks, and what not on your "artillery" position. You aim your cannon up to the sky and shoot them down. It was very fun doing, and since then I've been learning C#. For me, it is a hobby, something I do in my spare time. It I fun and I do enjoy learning on the go.

As I said, I learned in Visual Basic, but I find C# much easier to understand. Those are the only two languages I have touched. For a beginner? I suggest learn the code you are going to use, and in HBs point, learn C#, that way you can use the community for examples to learn new ways to code. As always, follow what is fun for you, if you are not having fun, it is not worth your time.

My home boy is into game development, I can see what you saying it is rewarding the way he go about it. With HB being such a success I'm thinking that it might be great future investment, I will consider C for sure, perhaps python and java for today's internet mainstream as well. I'l be looking forward to all the fun that's ahead. Thanks a lot
