A very long while! As other users have found, HB will freeze on startup while trying to stream certain products from the BuddyStore. These are my findings:

1) Products that will stream, (including all at once):
plugins: Disenchantrix, Garrison Ability Outpost Helper
routines: KittyDru, Epidemic (Affliction Warlock), KingWoW Shaman, Nightmare (Shadow Priest), Salvation (Disc Priest)
profiles: Apexis Shard Dailies

2) Products that cause HB to freeze on loading, (even by themselves):
plugins: TheBrodieMans Profile Compendium
routines: Demonic Free (Warlock), TuanHA (all)
profiles: 1-100 Questing Profile Pack
botbase: Garrisonbutler WoD ICE, Enyo

3) I am based in New Zealand, another user with the same issue is Australian

4) Flushing the bin cache and re-installing HB and dotNet 4.51 make no difference

5) I had been using HBRelog in the recent past

6) All the logs are like this, which doesnt give a lot of information:
[04:30:39.163 N] Honorbuddy v2.5.13042.771 started.

disable all the products from streaming and the ones that cause it to "freeze" enable 1 at a time and then log into honorbuddy. give it a decent amount of time and see if you can eventually get all the ones that arent streaming to load.

the issue is that some of those products are big and can take some time to download to your client, so by doing one by one your cutting the download time and but you still need to give it time to download.

No it's been an hour now and none of the listed products will load, even by themselves, as in no other plugin or botbase whatsoever.

I wouldn't have thought that a few hundred kilobytes would stress my connection which can handle 1.5MB/s

I have had occasional issues with HB over the years, but nothing this bad. Fresh installs, re-installs of Microsoft redistributables, nothing works and my poor old garrison has been neglected for a week now. (Addicted to GarrisonButler, I'd rather eat roadkill than do multiple garrisons by hand).

I tried installing WoW and Honorbuddy on my laptop and BuddyStore streaming works just fine, while using the same internet connection, connecting to the same BuddyStore servers. So from that I gather that:

1) The problem is not with the BuddyStore servers
2) Nor with my internet connection
3) Re-installing HB, deleting settings files and re-installing Microsoft C++ libraries don't help
4) Turning off anti-virus and firewall programs does nothing
4) The cause of the bug remains a great mystery and none of the many threads I have read on the issue have mentioned a solution

If anyone does find any information or have any theories please post them, a lot of people would be very thankful.

I ran the BuddyWizard again today, before a fresh install of the latest version of HB. The weird thing is that HB updated and ran just fine on my old laptop but has been out of action for weeks now on my souped-up desktop. I don't think I've ever had a software or hardware problem that was so difficult to fix, mainly because it seems so hard to even identify what the problem is.

Go to Programs and Features, in your windows Control panel.
Look for:
- microsoft .net framework 4 client profile
- microsoft .net framework 4 extended
- microsoft .net framework 4.5.x
- microsoft visual c++ 2010 x86 redistributable
- microsoft visual c++ 2012 x86 redistributable

and Uninstall them if they are installed.
Restart your PC.

install this
https://www.thebuddyforum.com/relea...-dependency-wizard-post704565.html#post704565

and this
Download Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1 (Web Installer) for Windows Vista SP2, Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8, Windows Server 2008 SP2 Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 and Windows Server 2012 from Official Microsoft Download Center

run both as administrator.
after the both installs are completed, run windows update. And install all updates for .net & c++
Then do one last restart.

I have carefully followed every step in the above process for a second time now, (the first was a few weeks ago), and have also deleted Appdata/Bossland/cache and Package cache, HB settings, Blizzard settings, given HB firewall permissions, turned off firewalls, turned off anti-virus, and made a half dozen clean installs of HonorBuddy.

Over the years I have got some very difficult installations to work but I am really hitting a brick wall here.

A google search on "Checking for Buddy Store products. This may take a while" brings up dozens of posts, mainly from about December last year onwards. Unfortunately not a single one of those threads gives a working solution or even some theory as to the nature of the problem.

The fact that HB works fine on my laptop makes me think the problem is on my end, if your servers were malfunctioning or if HB was bugged then my laptop HB would not be connecting to the BuddyStore either.

I will download an uninstall program and do a deep uninstall of every trace of HB even down to registry entries and then try a fresh install. Any help or pointers would be appreciated.

Edit: Nope, that didn't work either 8(

disable all store purchase and let me know if it works

It has always worked with no store purchases streamed and also with a certain few products enabled:
"1) Products that will stream, (including all at once):
plugins: Disenchantrix, Garrison Ability Outpost Helper
routines: KittyDru, Epidemic (Affliction Warlock), KingWoW Shaman, Nightmare (Shadow Priest), Salvation (Disc Priest)
profiles: Apexis Shard Dailies"

This selective list of working routines and plugins makes me think that there is a certain list held somewhere, of products authorized for my account, which is corrupted. After all, why would certain products be bugged (from different authors, and all of which worked in the past and now all of which simultaneously become bugged?). So I don't think the issue is the store products themselves.

And with certain products actually streaming correctly I feel the internet connection to the BuddyStore works too, and the BuddyStore 'could' stream products (physically possible) but some corrupted logic somewhere is telling it not to.

One other thing, if other users could comment in this thread that may be helpful. One guy had an idea about deleting the routines folder (but it only had Singular in it as a fresh install) and he had to send me a private message, but most people would not bother.

Having spent a ridiculous amount of hours looking for answers (for a grown man with a job its kinda pathetic and stupid, but its bugging me now) I have noticed two things:
1) There are very many users with this issue
2) They all start posting in mid to late December last year

This may help to identify the nature of the problem if there were any changes to the BuddyStore or how HB interacts with said store, around that time.

delete your %USERPROFILE%/AppData/Local/Bossland/Buddy Store/cache.bin file plz

delete your %USERPROFILE%/AppData/Local/Bossland/Buddy Store/cache.bin file plz

I just tried that, as well as deleting HB settings folder, and disabling all addons, unfortunately to no avail. I actually have a shortcut to the hidden folder for cache.bin because it gets deleted so often.

pm me your Skype and we will teamviewer it

I am having this exact same issue currently on all sessions of my key and on 3 different computers. Ever get anything figured out?

I have seen this error many times. And I will tell you how to fix the problem. I believe the problem is due to a Corrupt file in the folder for this toon or toons of yours. How I take care of the problem is to remove and delete the file for that toon. Go to Windows Explorer (if you have Windows) Go to where your Honorbuddy folder is. Click open the folder. There are two different places these logs are kept. 1) being in the File called "LOGS" In that folder you will see a folder with your effected toon in it. First part of that will be the server you have your toon on. One of my toons as a example (Arathor - Toadsticker) <<<<<< As I do not want to give away who I am or what server I am on I have changed these names. Next go to the Honorbuddy Folder Named "SETTINGS" In there you will see the Server name as a folder say again it was "Arathor" Open it up and again you will find all of your toons you have run on Honorbuddy. Find the effected character Say again it was TOADSTICKER. Delete that folder as well.

If your worried leave the deleted files in your Recycling Bin and rerun Honorbuddy on that character. You will again have to put in your settings what you like and where you want the screen to go. But I promise you this will fix that issue and any issue of any sort where Honorbuddy was made an error. It keeps it's log of what it has done in scripts. And if any part of that has bad info Honorbuddy will sit there either in Lala-Land saying it is updating from the Store or just sit there and do nothing.
