Hello. Guys, so far so good. I have bought HB and I am happy with it, its still early but it looks promising.

I have one concern though, the .EXE is blatantly called Honorbuddy.exe and it kinda freaks me out a bit that the process list if gathered by blizzard will have its name there.

So, is there a way to change the .EXE and the DETAILS info to look less suspicious?

What stealth techniques you guys use?

Honorbuddy's the most advanced bot on the market.

And honestly, just right click the .exe and change the name. Omg so difficult, eh?
 
wow cannot scan outside of its own process, so it can't scan taskmgr. at least thats what i've always heard
 
you know they change your hotkeys too. they're probably outside your window. right. now. i use this stealth method. i bot 10-12 hours most days on one toon he's level 84 (leveled from 80-84 via mining/herbing ONLY). i also have a level 1 toon on that account that make 8-13k every day.

or is this that guy that laughed and said we were being trolled? probably not.

I believe warden used to scan the process list but there was a big legal privacy issue so it no longer does...or something like that.

I still rename HB and GB.
 
Scan.dll scans your process list but only before you login. It only scans for a few things, and ch3ats are not really among them. Warden can but doesn't scan outside of process in-game.

And fyi they would scan the process memory, not the goddamn process name. Thinking you are eluding some kind of detection by changing your process name only deserves to be laughed at.

how do you propose it finds a process without iterating the process tree? It is blatantly visible that it calls Process32First -> Process32Next through the entire list.

Yes you are right, it scans for specific things (like ***** Engine), but it doesnt work after you have logged in, nor do we need to worry that it's going to magically start looking for HB.
 
Is this the leve of maturity (or lack thereof) of the community around here?

I genuinely asked this because warden does scans executables running concurrently with wow.

And for the one saying I could just rename the .exe, your wrong it doesn't work.
You need to change the ownership/signature to change the process name and description, which is also a field warden takes notes.

Also, since I am not a troll as mr smart ass suggested, instead I will link something more constructive.

I would be careful with that, I think Apoc added CRC checks to the HonorBuddy assembly recently to fight piraters
 
Hi there i usually bot 20 hours a day 7 days a week i have done this for almost 6 months now i haven't changed the filename of hb or gb, i haven't had any warnings or bans, so it seems all good :)
 
You can't pirate HB I guess, it needs the login info isn't it?

Also even though it's possible to edit the ownership/details/author of the file, it's pointless as it doesn't work on it's own as stand alone exe.

And obviously it's not like someone is gonna claim to have made it...

Anyways, it's just the usual paranoia of getting caught, I am sure we all had those moments.
 
And while we are here, is it safe to fish inside an instance to avoid people noticing you?
 
I remember people getting banned for that in Vanilla (fishing bot zoned into Wailing Caverns) sooo I'd be careful
 
Changing the name of Honorbuddy itself is enough to get around Scan.dll. (Scan.dll doesn't do checkum checks, and never has)

Warden currently doesn't leave it's own process space, and this hasn't changed in roughly 2 years. If for some reason it does change, we'll set off the tripwire, until we work around the scan.

The only reason you'd need to 'change' the module signature (see: hash), is if the bot was injected. Which it's not.


In other words; if you're paranoid, just rename the EXE. You don't need to, but you can. (Honorbuddy will even change it's own window title)

At the rest of you, who are flaming, first and final warning. Next time is a 2 week suspension.
 
Ok thanks for clarifying this Apoc.

I guess I will just change the exe name and the description to something less suspicious, just out of paranoia. :)

And for those who misinterpret what I wrote about being at an early stage, I was referring to my experience as it was early for me to comment any further on the bot performance as I just started using it.

I am really enjoying so far, but I am skipping the 1-60 leveling and doing RAF so the big challenge will come today or tomorrow.

Thanks metalhk47. I am still getting used to using one and I am as we speak leveling boosting through instances, got to 30 in around 3 hours.

I would like some help in tips in how to start out, for instance what mob areas to grind, where to go for leveling, etc...

Sort of lost when it comes to that, im probably still paranoid of being caught thats why i keep it low profile and using it very randomly for short period of times.

Gonna get my chars to 60 and go to outlands to see if it improves the level per hour.
 
You got to 30 in 3 hours. You want to improve leveling speed?

Next time you "heard a rumour" about different things that get scanned by wow, read this: Warden and 'The Governor'
