How long does it usually take to catch up with a patch?

Does the ban rate go up after the HB patch and die down later on?

Thanks,

cp

30 mins to an hour , this patch is taking EXTREMELY long considering the normal turnaround.

Yes , anyone that bots the day after a new HB patch gets banned. 3 to 4 days after the initial ban waves the bans die down a lot.

I'm picking up what you're putting down.

I've never been banned right after botting a new patch.

Actually, this is about normal when a patch goes into place. They usually update HB less than 4 days as that seems to have been the longest I have seen through the years. Sometimes they are extremely quick and get it out hours after. But they try to make it as safe as they possibly can for everyone.

As for getting banned, I would have to go with Heffe on this one. If you are not a careless person with your botting instead of the ones you see always complaining how they were banned using this bot. We all know those that do the extremely risky things constantly or do it way out of moderation. It is probably best to wait a few days after a major patch. Usually to ensure that the devs got everything good to go with HB. Another words, let others be your test if you aren't feeling overly confident.

Botting is like going out drinking. You don't do it in moderation and you will most likely end up hugging a toilet very soon. However, there are those times that Blizzard will be quick to spot something (mostly player reports) and it is as if you end up getting slipped a Mickey. Hopefully, this metaphor will give you a better idea of how botting goes.

This applies to combat routines too? I'm mainly using atm this program just for the routines like Tuanha's Pally routine, do they have the same risk after a patch as using the other bots like leveling, etc?

If a combat routine needs a patch to work with the latest HB or WoW release it's totally up to the developer how long this will take. You'll have to ask in the corresponding DEV thread for this.
