Unfortunately ... if the installation is crashing it means there is something that is incompatible with the previous installation.
I'd suggest looking through the most recent log file to, perhaps, get a better understanding of what is causing the crash...
OTHERWISE, you'll have to do a fresh-install; copy over your plugins/routines/profiles
You can try the fresh install and, also, copy the 'Settings' folder in your HB directory (this is where most plugin information is stored if not stored in the plugin folder).
