I'm trying to Multi-box 5 toons using HB.
I'll be controlling the Leader.

I remember a HB version where the followers would pick up all the quests of an NPC the leader had targeted.. it wasn't HB Questing it was just regular HB.. and is it even safe o use it?

propably you are talking about the stable non-questing version

Nah, the new stable version doesn't get the quests the leader(me) gets.

Try adding Jamba (Multiboxing addon) this should then squirt all the quests etc to all your toons.
