Can you switch to your phone "safely" to evolve?

Put simply, the bot doesn't do evolutions and only stockpiles candy (this is fine, the bot is working great and that's the important part)

So my thought was, if I disable the GPS/Location on my phone, then log into my account (turning off the bot first, obviously) will this be safe to do evolves? since the GPS is disabled? I have the bot farming in a far away place so it would be a massive change in location when logging on the phone.

Klip, I done that many times, that I logged from phone to account botting on another side of the world and I am still here. Mostly to check for shiny magikarps, because pokefarmar is not showing shiny magikarps. I always switched gps off before logging. And before switching to next account I logged off from pokemon go, closed PG (back button on phone and confirm closing) and also killed PG app (long press menu button, bottom left button on my smartphone) . If I was not banned yet it does not mean, that Niantic is not knowing about me.
Btw, you can setup evolution rules in PF settings, logic rules.

The only evolutions the bot does not support is ones with the new items (at this time)

You can evolve with the bot by checking and right clicking. It's manual but possible.
