Can you still transfer to accounts that arent b.net merged?

I bought an account off a rl buddy (9 level 80s all with maxed crafting professions) for $100 (He was desperate).

I'm wondering if its still possible to make a new WOTLK account in his name, transfer chars off the account onto the unmerged new account, and then merge that account into my B.net account, effectively putting that account into my name.

Is it still possible to transfer characters onto unmerged b.net accounts?

As far as I know, it is not possible to have an active "unmerged" B.net account.

No, you can't do this. When you make a new WoW account (trial or full), you must either have a Battle.net ID or create one.

Uhg alright, so theres absolutely no way to get this account or characters into my name?

Yeah I did it a few weeks ago, If you have problems though you have to call blizz up thats what I needed to do it was 25$ but it was possible
