Can you combine Recruit a Friend with Scroll of Resurrection?

I just bought a SoR account last week and haven't activated yet, and I was just wondering whether I could do this in order to get both RaF and SoR benefits?
1) My friend recruits me
2) I accept, officially activate RaF
3) Activate the SoR on the other account and make the merge
4) One account now has both?
That way we could level a bunch of characters really fast and I would also have a free level 80 up to Cata. Are you able to combine it through doing this or not? My friend is insisting RaF recruits to its own WoW account and SoR recruits to ITS own WoW account. Can any of you help me out here?

It doesn't work like that. RAF goes to the WoW account, not the Battle.net. If he RaFs you it is on a new account, and the SoR will be a separate WoW account on the same Battle.net account.

You'll have to merge the SoR then transfer the free 80 after you level it up onto the RaF account for $25 if you want to do this.
