IDK I'm kinda siding with OP on this one. Normally people are like "I PAID $55 EURO FOR A PRODUCT."

It feels like OP is just genuinely curious. As we all are. It doesn't sound like OP is demanding a daily update; seems more he is asking.

So I don't feel (this time) asking politely is terrible or entitled.
