So im looking for a cheap rig that can run 5 bots. All these computers will cost me bewtween 200-300 dollars, and are really small and very silent.
Im just not sure if they are able to run 5 bots. so heres the specs:

PC 1:
SilverStone desktop / Mediacenter (HTPC), 16,5/41/41cm (H/B/D)
ASUS P5K-E/WIFI-AP / ATX / Socket 775 / FSB 1333/1066/800 / Intel P35
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 / 8M Cache / 2.40 GHz
Kingston HyperX 4GB DDR2 1066MHz RAM
ZOTAC GeForce GT 430 ZONE Edition (1GB),
Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB HD
Linksys WMP600N Wireless-N PCI
DVD RW drive
Multi Card reader
NorthQ 500W PSU, 120mm fan, Silent

PC 2:

Intel Core i5 M450 2,4 GHz
500 GB Harddisk intern + 500 GB harddisk ekstern (WD5000H1U)
4 GB DDR3 ram
2 x USB 3.0
DVD-RW drev (inkl
802.11n Wireless Networking (300Mbps)
MCE Remote Controller
Intel? HD Graphics, Support Native Full HD 1080p Playback
7.1 CH HD Audio

PC 3:

Intel Prescott 3GHz
MSI PT890 Neo-V
2gb ram
Silverstone HTPC case
DVD drive
LC660GP2 PSU (600W)
Asus Silent Knight 2 CPU cooler
Nvidia GT520 grafikkort med Dsub, DVI og HDMI
320gb IBM Deskstar harddisk

RAM can be upgraded on all of them if needed.

Depends on which bot
If gatherbuddy then:
YES
YES
NO (ram and processor insufficient)

But why buy that shit? Just get a cheap 1055T or i7 920 coupled with 8-12gb ram and run 15 bots.

Because i live in Denmark where electronics cost the double of what it does in America :)

What if its the botbase "questing" running solo instances?

No idea why he mentions the botbase and tries to explain alongside it, the resources needed don't differ in worlds for different botbases (afaik).

the results remain the same, the 3rd pc will probably not keep up with 5 bots running.

I mention it because it matters.
And buy a used 1055T in denmark, youll get it for 2500-3000DK.
Q6600, fine as it might be is really really old as is the ram (slow).

And running solo instances for a extensive amount of time is a recipe for disaster. I dont think youll be able to bot that for longer than a week before banned.

Its quite easy, if it was a good way to bot. Everyone would do it, everyone would run HoL with lvl 85s or Grim baotl with lvl 90s. But it isnt because the characters dont last long. Usually less than 1-2 weeks if you bot 8-12 hours a day.

EDIT: Just do a who Grim Batol and youll see there are maybe 3-4 lvl 90s there on the larger servers, those are probably bots and they will get banned.

I doubt it. I will be making my own profiles and i will not do HoL. I have a friend who has been doing this for 3 months without a single ban for 12 hours a day. I dont know if you play on US servers, but it seems like the banrate there is much higher

PC #1 - NO
You're going to need a better hard drive and about 2 more gigs in RAM. If you are sold on WD hard drives, get yourself a black SATA 3.5 (minimum 7500). Anyone who tells you yes to this machine does not know what they are talking about (or either missed the fact that you have a low performance hard drive).

PC #2 - MAYBE
I could see this one working for you if you take the video card out of PC #1 and place it in this machine instead. Integrated video isn't going to cut it with 5 bots running. You can get away with probably 2-3 active bots here, but swap the video card and you'll be able to do 5. Also, you're gonna need more RAM.

PC #3 - NOT A CHANCE
Pentium 4 and 2 gb of ram? This machine might be able to handle one bot a best.

Your best bet here is to take the parts from PC#1 and PC#3 and put them into PC#2 so long as they are compatible. If you want to upgrade each one without salvaging them all,

Upgrade PC#1's RAM (to at least 6gb, preferably 8gb), better performance HD (red or black WD models would work or get a SSD). Perhaps even a 2gb video card.
Upgrade PC#2's RAM (to at least 6gb, preferably 8gb), install a video card (1gb minimum, 2 gb recommended)

PC#3 is not worth upgrading at all, it would be a better idea to build a new machine.

References for all this jargon?
I'm a CompTIA A+ certified PC Technician, who owns and operates a PC Repair and Upgrade company in Northern Colorado. I also have two degrees, a BAS in Computer Sciences and a AA in Network Administration. I have been working on PC's since 1994. Hope this helps you out! :)

Dvd's, card readers, wireless... Yea, must have for botting pc.

Its cheap, not builded for boting - dont expect much from it.

Then buy it in Germany. Costs about the same as in the US and you don't pay any import fees or extra taxes.

The only PC even remotely useful is the i5. That can be upgraded to run 10 bots. The other two are worth their weight in scrap metal.

And yet still mine is bigger than yours.

So gathering profiles and questing profiles like Kicks 1-90 use the same amount of resources ?
I honestly doubt that, CPU usage should be much higher when questing.

I run 5 bots all the time on the following system... Granted I have to keep each window down around 15-20fps... I run dungeonbuddy with this system in 5 man teams. Works just fine.

My point is, I don't see why your PC #2 couldn't do 5 bots.

Cpu:Amd 64 x2 Dual core 6000+ 3Ghz
4 Gb Ram.
Bundkort: MSI K9AG Neo2 Digital.
Grafikkort: Nvidia GT 520 1Gb DDR3 ram m. hdmi
1 Tb Harddisk

U know what. I can actually check for you.
I have a Q6600 with 4 gb of ram that im thinking of botting on.
If you send me a privte message I can send u a prtscreen of the task manager cpu/ram drain.

Yeah if I said yes I didnt read the hard drive specs nor the gfx specs. I always assume that people have a dedicated GFX and a 7200 rpm hard drive :) A gfx from 2005 will suffice @ running 5 bots.

Found this one pretty damn cheap. any ideas?

Was trying to let the op know that I can provide him proper advice due to some real life qualifications. Perhaps next time, you can provide some helpful information to the op rather than "Oh yeah, it can be upgraded to 10 bots." That's real insightful. See I can troll too :)

It's funny how sometimes we view the cpu and the memory and sometimes forget other needed specs. You're good man, I do the same thing from time-to-time as well :)
