i recently upgraded my pc with a evga gtx460 video card, 8gb ram and a 128gb ssd but my motherboard is holding me back because i cant rly upgrade to a better processor.(i could but its hard to find processors for sale and for a decent price and it wont be a huge upgrade)

currently i have the p5ql pro mother board with core 2 quad q8200

any suggestions ?

thx,

That is one mean motherboard....

what is your price range? $200, 300, 400, 500? (for both together)

the first two elucid posted up came out to $500 together. thankfully there is no tax or shipping fees. so my tops is $500

i ordered those but there is still tons of time to change my mind :P

Asrock Extreme 4 or 6 Z77
Good cheap reliable all gold capped well built and designed motherboard. Just because you dont know Asrock now doesnt mean they're not good. Give it a few years and they'll be heavily competing for your market.

And an I5-2500k or I5-3570k You can find them both for about the same price. Sometimes the 3570k you can get cheaper with MIRebates and coupons

I went with 2700k and asus maximus IV extreme z, but that's because I love overclocking to the very edge.. And that was a year ago. Could probably find better now.
