That motherboard is socket 1155, the CPU is socket 1156. They are incompatible!

HDD, memory, and PSU are also very bad choices.

What's your budget, monitor resolution and what do you want to do on the computer (gaming, rendering etc) and I'll tell you what components I would recommend buying.

no point in getting a i7 960 if ur just gonna be gaming, no need for a CPU cooler, get a better case and get a few fans and u will be fine, get more then 2GB of ram

don't cheap out on the case/ram, u are getting an extreme overkill processor

check prices on newegg and use the combo deals and it will save a couple hundred bucks

$1,000 max. Looking to getting a monitor aswell. This will be my botting computer but I would also like to be able to actually play the game on it aswell.

As I said I am planning to bot on this computer. Usually running 2 - 4 accounts at a time and sometimes playing on my main aswell. This made me think I would need an upgraded processor?

A little over budget but something similar would be well worth the money. Do you really need 2TB of storage? I only included 1TB because you can just throw a second one in at a later date if you need it.

ya know.. i got a over the counter Dell 8100 XPS Studio from Best Buy for $900. 8gig Ram, 1TB drive, 1gig GT220 vid card... running dual monitors and run multiple wows/bots at the same time with no problem. I even run a Media Server, web development system, torrent software all of this computer and quite honestly.. works just fine.

I also get a single contact for all my system problems tech support if needed.

Your budget.. its a waste of money/time to build your own with all the possibilities. You are having issues picking compatible pieces which is a sign you will have issues... as well as having short comings on specs. I know your asking for help so this is help.. stick with a simple over the counter system with such a low budget and you'll be just fine.

Yeah I just (As of yesterday) got the 1366 socket i7 960 3.2ghz with HT. I upgraded my ram also to Corsair "Vengeance" ram (12GB) and went with a H70 Corsair cooler... in a HAF 932 case with 7 fans also on top of the water cooling. On the H70 I reversed the fan direction to blow outwards instead of inwards where it tells you in the manual to do it inwards...(Retarded and makes the case and processor literally 5-10c degrees hotter because it disrupts the airflow...) But I am on a Asus P6T v2 motherboard and running a Evga GTX 570 and was able to overclock the system to 4.0ghz @ 1604 ram speed stable under prime95 (testing/straining program) for 24 hours straight. I then overclocked the GTX570 after a small software voltage mod to 920mhz core, shaders 1840mhz and memory 2350mhz. Messed with the fan variables in MSI afterburner, and upped the voltage to 1.088v.

I could open over 21 (non logged in) WoW windows when I had Corsair 6GB (xms3) of ram and air cooler @ 4ghz processor speed on my older i7 920... And then it got really laggy... I have logged in 6 windows with "good" settings enabled for graphics with no lag! '

I now can open over 35 before the computer almost halts... since upgrading to 12gb of ram and the new chip...

Make sure your really careful with your computer component changes/builds. Sometimes getting the 30 dollar less part can mean the difference between extreme performance and just stable parts...
