Buddystore Refund Policy Misleading - BUYER BEWARE

I purchased a CR on 3/26 (Saturday evening) and attempted to get a refund on 4/2 (following Saturday afternoon). Upon logging in to the BuddyStore to get a refund I was unable to do so. I contacted Bossland support who did not help me at all. The support agent (Joro) denied the refund without explaining why. Not only did he not explain - the reply seemed hostile (very bad customer support in my opinion).

I got the following response from support:

"The Refund period indeed is in seven days, but obviously you missed it if you can not see the Refund button in your store account/ The store Refund option is fully automated."

I responded and explained that I had purchased the CR the previous Saturday so I was still within the 7 days (the receipt clearly shows time of purchase). Unfortunately, I didn't get a response (except ticket is closed). I would expect the support team to at least explain why the refund button was not showing even though 7 full days hadn't yet elapsed. This is horrible support in my opinion. It appears the refund policy is actually 6 days and not 7 as advertised (apparently you cannot get a refund on the 7th day). This is very misleading in my opinion. Buyer Beware!

Or day 1 is considered the first day you purchased it. Which would have put day 7 at Friday.

day 1 is considered the first day.

26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 1, 2

that is 7 days.

Your trial expired on the 1st April, as the 26th was considered your first day.

day 1 is considered the first day.

26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 1, 2

That's 8 days, friend.

26:1, 27:2, 28:3, 29:4, 30:5, 31:6, 1:7.

You guys can tell time, right? Saturday evening to Saturday afternoon is not a full 7 days.

they are not counting the seconds they are counting the day you buy it. and the person has no excuse when you look at my purchases it gives you the count down timer for anything that you buy so he flat out knew way ahead of time how much time he had left before he could request a refund

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Keep in mind, it was Daylight Saving Time pushed with 1 hour forward exactly on 26th Saturday evening, vs 27th so the OP may have been late by just 1 hour or so.

I suggest him to contact [email protected] again, explain again the issue he had, and of course pray Joro is in better mood today.

from what i can see the counter was right, refund button gets disappeared when the user is not eligible for a refund anymore (which means the refund period it is over)

from Saturday to Saturday that is 8 days according my poor maths :)

the timer its there to avoid such cases, its pretty easy for the user to find out the remaining time

so Joro did what he was supposed to do

yes because im sure you really needed those last day or two to decide you want a refund. its your fault for trying to abuse the system to get a free CR for 7 days

This...He never had any intention of buying it. But that is his right. Just don't come to the forums and try to bash or say negative things about this site and the amazing people behind it. I have been here a few years now and have never had anything but good relations with everyone here that is behind it all. Anyhow. Cheers.

Yes - you got me. I abused the system by trying to get an extra day with a CR that barely works... LOL. Do you even think before you respond to posts? Or do you just say/type the first thing that comes to mind based on how you're currently feeling?

I was under the impression that if I purchased something on Saturday I would be able to return it up until the following Saturday. I was wrong as I didn't calculate the first day as being day 1 (now I know for future purchases).

At this point its not a big deal as I don't care very much about the refund (it was only $20). The point of this post was to inform others of my experience - not to get a refund.

Thank you all for the feedback and input.

Another genius here who assumes things...

I've been a member since 2012 and never had any issues with the products, store, support and/or service (until this week). I did not fabricate my story in anyway to bash and/or say anything negative. I simply stated facts and my experience with the refund process - nothing more. If you think this is bashing they I don't know what to tell you.

So the warning to others is this: 8 days and 7 days are not the same thing??? Dude, you had a week. You don't count the same day of the week twice. That would be the start of week 2.

Of course you should have been able to get a refund if you purchased it Saturday evening and wanted the refund Saturday afternoon. That is less than 7 days.
The refund period does not work on a day-by-day basis, but rather on 7 full days (ie. 24*7 hours).

However, I took a look at the logs, and you did not purchase the product Saturday evening.
You made your purchase on 2016-03-26 03:05:08 UTC (2016-03-25 22:05:08 PST). This is Friday evening in the US.
You were eligible for a refund until 2016-04-02 03:05:08 UTC (2016-04-01 22:05:08 PST).

I'll ask Joro to make sure he provides that information in the future for cases like this.

MaiN - Thank you very much for clarifying - I appreciate this. I made the purchase while overseas but I was connected via VPN to my system in the US so this screwed up my timeline (email confirmation showed 3/26). I apologize.

This should also show others that if my timeline was correct - I should have been able to get a refund (people were somehow counting Saturday to Saturday as 8 days :) ). Once again, I do apologize for the misunderstanding.
