Bought a lvl 15 Guild yesterday for 20k gold ;-)

I've been looking for a guild to buy here and there. Not announcing that I was looking every time I got on, but every now and then. So yesterday evening I got a reply that one was for sale - and that he was just getting insulting low ball offers. I offered 20k and he(?) jumped on it.

He made me part of his guild, I traded him the gold and he promoted me to GM. In just a few minutes time I had a 'new' level 15 guild with 6 bank tabs.

I'm doing it for the perks for my and my families alts... also the possibility of making gold from the 10% bonus from all the build members looting. It currently has alot of ppl that haven't logged on for months so I posted a warning that if they have alts or friends that want to stay part of the guild, to have them log in and at least have some acivity or they could be dropped.

and of course, I'll be doing invites to unguilded toons to increase the ranks as well.

Yep... I've been thinking that I got a good deal for a lvl 15 guild. Esp when you figure that it doesn't take us as long as a regular player to produce that 20k...

Just getting ready to head home a bit early... got class tonight. Haven't done the Candy Buckets yet... will probably do that for my toons over the weekend. I did kill the Headless Horseman multiple times each day already though... the only things I want from him now come from the bucket so I'm going to run it at least once a day for each of my 85s... (looking for the Helm and of course the mount... lol)

That was a pretty good buy. I purchased a level 25 guild about a month or so ago for 100k. I spammed one time "WTB Level 25 Guild" to which trade chat exploded in LOL's. Five minutes later I was the GM of a level 25 guild. Showed them!

I may be interested in this, but what stops the gmaster from just taking your gold and keeping his guild?

He can do that, but you can report him since everything was handled in game and a GM should refund you.

Hm, why is people buying high levled guilds? Are they making money from it?

Guild perks. When you get the perk that gives you extra materials when mining, herbing, and skinning makes it all worth it. Along with 10% off vendor prices. I prefer to bot in my own private guild with a few friends. Keep my main characters that I do not bot with in established guilds.
