Searched the forums for this but couldn't find anything.

A friend turned me on to the TOR network. Has anyone tried botting through it? Looked like a good way to hide your IP Address from Blizz.

Hide IP is a myth! If you want it, then you'll see the IP always ... without the correct IP of your PC's data will not arrive.

I use Pingbuster and ProxyCap to HIDE MY IP. For Corny, who says it doesn't work, he is an idiot. I play from Germany and have a friend who plays my account in the States. If I didn't tunnel to a US IP, my account gets locked when one or the other logs on because of IP jumps from two different countries.

you can use vpn servers to hide your ip. different providers you can see below.

Thanks for the responses. I have been looking into VPN services. The way that my friend explained the TOR network it sounded like it assigned random IPs that belong to members of the network. Based on drewdenman's comment this might actually increase my chances of getting banned if Blizzard sees several IPs associated with the account rather than a single IP that is not actually my own.

i dont think it would. the whole point of the Tor Network is that every request that gets sent out, is send and routed though a different server. so not only would your performance be really shitty. i think they only let port 80 though, to prevent people from torrenting, or in this case playing world of warcraft though it. not only that, but having each packet sent though servers all over the world would defiantly set off red flags in thier security, (oh shit, somone from china is hacking so and so's account) so all in all its pretty much a non-starter anyway you look at it. ive personaly used
Your Freedom - Bypass firewalls and proxies, stay anonymous
with a free account you get like an hour of access before you get kicked off, but you can keep reconnecting to it. ive personally ran wow, torrents and team speak/ventrillo though that service since my isp sucks and has a lot of ports blocked. just get something like that will tunnel the application though the socks proxy provided.

You could hide your IP with the tor network but it would make the game unplayable. The way tor works is to bounce you between many nodes all over the world an many nodes and peoples home connections with multiple users using them as hops. That set up leads to really high pings and many times packet loss, which ultimately leads to wow lagging out or not even connecting.

Yeah, I thought as much. Thanks for the input. I will put it to good use.

Tor Network is an BAD IDEA

The old Tor sends your connection tough a different server each time. Now a days they only change your IP when you ask for it.

As far as I know you can't have different wow running trough different servers

Latency will suck.

You will login from all over the world and this will get you banned ASP.
