After leaving my bot on for 4 hours in the middle of the night to herb and mine I woke up to find I had been kicked from my guild for botting. Apparently a few people saw me doing this and even started a forum thread on the wow forums about it. Two people even say they have a fraps of my bot at work. What assholes! It is extremely likely that I was reported to blizzard for botting.

I don't care about being removed from the guild, but I would prefer that my account not get banned for this. At this point what can I do to protect myself.

I have a friend that will pay to xfer me off this server in exchange for some in game gold. Would getting a quick xfer in protect me at all? (I kinda wanna xfer anyway)

only a gm can ban you for botting, after an investigation

so... go quest some

also, you should never hide something like this from your guild, ever

I would also name change

Was just wondering if i had to quest, or if I could just do arena like i normally do.

Also, if a name change would help, would a quick server xfer with name change be better? I imagine it would put me out of the local GM's jurisdiction?

As Kick said, play normal for a while. If there was that much commotion you can almost guarantee that you were reported and a GM will take a look at some time. Not hard for them to check you out when online at any time without you knowing though. Not sure why you would call the guild and people frapsing assholes. They are just players that bots have an advantage over. Natural instinct on their part when they came across someone botting. It was you that didn't watch your bot. Just saying.
