So I've just bought a new PC, and I'm planning on setting my old PC up next to it with the intention of botting on the OLD PC.

I've been on my main WoW account with my old PC before, and now that I'm going to bot on it, is it absolutely neccessary to run a VPN on my old acc when botting? and if so are there any other things I must do in order to avoid a ban on my main?

Thanks in advance for any replys :D

dont use a vpn.... 90% of vpn providers IP subnets are very well known to blizzard.

So your basilcy saying hello blizzard I'm a bot !.

The only time (and even then I still wouldn't worry about it).. if you had access to a private VPN server - either your own or someone you know..

Also.. Installing windows/wow and HB from scratch serves absolutely nothing.. what possible reason would you do that in regards to running HB ?

People really need to understand why they are typing before telling the world about it.

lol...

there are good private vpn not flagged and cheap
yes installing windows, wow and hb from scratch is a good thing, if no please explain. (it can prevent you from lua errors, etc etc)

instead taunting and being sarcastic please give us your advices, i thing you'll be appear to be more clever for us

Very unlikely- Under the new sceme- When obtaining subnets your required to disclose if you intend on using it for VPN services... This information is publicly available.

Although this was to help companies like Netflix HBO ect.. this helped blizzard out a lot.. Basically any VPN provider that has followed the law of the country they are in (most western countries would) have publicly disclosed this information.

Not to worry; use some of our eastern european or asain friends.

Skip the VPN all-together, it has been proven time and time again to do absolutely nothing from a protection standpoint. Forget about VM's as well...Same principle.

The bans section is full of users that have been trying to get around being banned by running these silly protections...If they actually were protecting themselves, they wouldn't be posting in the bans section to start with.

Actually, and surprisingly, you are almost 100% right here.
Almost, simply because you can do something "good" with VM and VPN.

Using VPN and VM isn't going to hide you from detection, simple as that.
That statement is correct!

But, posing as someone else, and presenting to Blizz that your acc got stolen,
is something, completely different. It can, not necessarily, get your account un-banned, only
if you comply to many, many rules... (there are many kind of logs, you know)

But, let's not get in to it.
It is a whole different philosophy, where you need to know what are you doing,
how everything works, create different identity etc.

Back to core of the topic.
Using old PC is same as using your current one.
Especially if you are using the same network. :D

I don't know how deep blizzard looks so I'm not going to argue the point, however from a technical point of view (blizzard may or may not even do it) is quite easy to see where the packet came from and what routers it went through..
From a technical point of view you can not hide behind a 10 dollar VPN... however I very much doupt blizzard staff can look that far into things

As from System admin point of view, anything and anyone can be hidden...
I have builded manny pptp an ipsec tunnels, and still, i am administering those.

Many conditions needs to be fulfilled, it's not simple as "I've got my self 10$ VPN account, now i'm hidden".
