Hey Guys n Gals ^^

Because boredom gets the better of me,

would it be possible to bot on a dedicated server ?

like ones from redstation.com

and setup the bots and leave them to run, then check on them once ina while etc

Or is that not possible ?

Thanks,

Kai

It may be possible, but to be honest at the prices they are asking.. after 3 months you could have built yourself a nice botting machine capable of running atleast 8 bots.

True,

theres nothing wrong with the comp i use atm,

it can run 10 bots with ease atm when i do bot the 10

but like i said , i get bored and was going to give this a try,

but aye , iv already got 4 comps in computer room atm lol so doubt ill stick anothr one in ^^

Will see what happens

each of the comps atm can run atleast 5 bots so... but aye like i said... just an idea

Kai ,

yes, after 3 months of just 1 acct botting u can easily get $1000 usd or more. I bought a botting machine (desktop) off of ebay (lightly used) for 350$ + shipping

its got 4gb ddr3, 1gb vid card, 1TB hdd, some fans, 800w power supply, quad core 3.2ghz, and i bought a 22" monitor for $130... bought a gaming keyboard (zboard + 2 keysets) for $30+shipping.

I just cannot bring myself to pay $120 for a gaming mouse :\ thats like 3 days of farming for 1 mouse, and i have 4 computers. cheap $10-15 mice are fine w/ me lol

The main drawback I see from running your bots offsite is the cost, it would cut a decent chunk out of your profits even you were running 10 bots on the server, 2-3 of them would be just for producing money to pay for the server that month. Plus your limited to a remote desktop client to do any maintenance work, updating wow/gatherbuddy etc.. At any rate its an extra 60 euro in your pocket if you keep it in house :)

KVM = Pro.

I have 7 (8 if you count my personal) machines running, 2(3 personal) screens, 2 keyboards (3 personal) , 2 mouses (3 personal) . (4 screens if you count my personal computer). Thing is, I only bot 1 account per computers. I check in every 1-2 hours on every bot. Also made a little nifty program to send email alerts with levels, whispers, and what nots to my phones email so i get it on my phone. Once I save up enough, I plan on buying a larger computer desk and mounting 7 screens so I feel like more of a champ. Just 700$ more to go!

not to down you at all, but if you just run the bots in windowed mode even on 1 computer.. the video card can support 6 little bots doing their thing if you have /console maxfps XX and /console maxfpsbk XX ... it gets laggy after 6. if you spent the money on more bots, you would have a lot more cash, yes more overhead (15/month) but more cash in pocket as well. But, to each their own =) if you want 7 monitors, go for it! Just remember about the light bill =) 1 desktop computer costs $XX/month, especially for gamers or power users it may be more. i turn off my monitor on my desktop when i am not using it, and i windows 7 puts my screen on dim after 5 mins (5% light)

To be fully honest, I know I can run more then 1 bot on a computer. Not to worried about the cost. I am switching everything over to HB and GB soon. I purchased HB and leveled 1-70 pretty quickly, so that already signed the deal for the leveling bot. GB still however confuses me on some part. Maybe because HB does all the work for me and I do not have to move keys around to dedicate a bar to anything. Oh and the mesh mapping is confusing on some parts. But pretty sure I will figure it out when I play with it abit more (lol to that). And I plan on getting lifetime license. More then 1 of course because I need to run more then 3 bots at a time.

Edit:
Power bill isn't a huge worry to me. Everyone of my desktops are set to dim monitors after 20 minutes. Then cut off after 30. Only thing I hate about running so many frigging computer is the damn heat. Gets so hot some times, and solving that problem wasn't to easy. I know a basic setup would be Fan blowing the hot air into a direction then leading that to a outside source. Only thing is, I do not feel comfortable leaving my window open at night. Def not during the day when I am working. So I only do it when I am here but walking into my room, freaking sauna.

I'm also thinking about buying a botting pc from ebay (used) and sticking it in the kitchen where it is usually coolest, and i can leave it on 24/7 without it desturbing me. Then upgrading to HB Lifetime so i can bot more accounts.

@OP, I asked this question in the Live Chat and someone mentioned that the VPS/Dedicated server obviously has no graphics card so wow won't be able to run!

WoW Can run without a Graphics card you know ;)

But yes to run it on a dedicated i would use one from my dads company to try but like i said this was just somethin to ask from boredom

It requires a graphics card.. I think what he ment was running it on a very small graphics card..

I've ran 2 instances of wow on my little Acer Aspire One Netbook which has an 8mb video card. Wow can run off practically nothing graphics wise. Obviously its wasn't *playable* but it worked great for bots! :)
