Botting like crazy, didn't get banned? Got DC due to tripwire.

Like the topic states.

Been botting like crazy for a few weeks. Was botting at the very time when we all got disconnected due to the tripwire.

Is there likely to be another ban wave or would you say I'm safe? And if I'm safe, how come?

How many others had the same luck?

Have you been disconnected before due to the tripwire? This is my first DC due to a tripwire.
 
iv ebeen dc'd every time we have had trip wire in past year or 2 and didnt catch ban even was going during this one
 
Rumour has it, that a scan was started at a certain date/time and if you were using HB at that moment, you're screwed.
In that case, it has nothing to do with any tripwire ..

Thank you for the reply. Would you say that we are safe then, us that didn't get banned? Or is there likely another ban wave to come?
 
  • botting is never safe
  • no one can predict a banwave
  • botting is just as safe as it ever was
  • never bot on any account you arent willing to lose
  • expect to be banned every single time you log in and you won't be surprised

I got the 6 months sentence too .. apparently I was at the wrong place, at the wrong time :cool:

As frosticus already said : it's _never_ safe to use a bot and _never_ use it on an account you don't want to lose

you know i had this sixth sense a few weeks ago, just from reading ban posts and getting alot of DC's, :(

then on the wave, i was raiding got a DC logged back in fine for a boss kill, and then another DC and i was banned

one thing I've learnt is not to put all your eggs into one basket. and fail to prepare, prepare to fail

I am running usually with 5-7 WoW clients open on my main system while I am around.

In the last several months got maybe 2 or 3 DCs total! Not counting "surprise" DCs, when some friend poke me on skype to play abit, just after he DCed me ingame :)

One of these DCs were definitely from my old router and I use average LAN internet for 6 euro monthly from a random provider in Eastern Europe.

From my past experience, the frequent DCs are usually off badly coded, incompatible or not working in synergy with each other wow addons or HB plugins. Very rarely from unstable internet connection.
 
well many people were banned, me for some odd reason I didn't get banned probably just my lucky day I should go buy a scratch of ticket. But Now the only question I have to ask when will be the next banwave another 5 years?? or 3 days thats the scary thing. IMO I think blizzard is doing this to make $$ on everyone that is going to continue to play and buy new copys of the game. Blizzard also knows that their are tons of players that will fire up the bot again as soon as they can will they ban hammer again to make you by the games 3 times?? who really knows its a mystery

I agree with you on this all the way. It is weird that many will still play and sign off on letting blizzard scan there system and look at what is running along with whenever else blizz want to take from your system. scan.dll and scan-64.dll is being put on the system just so bliz can get you all over again. If you remove the scan.dll from the wow folder, then start up wow.exe as soon as you run the exe file to log in, you can watch a new scan.dll.new file show up in the folder. and it will have the word new on the end of it. I want someone from HB to DE-compile both the scan.dll and scan-64.dll files and put them out for putlic viewing on you tube or another very public site without showing the name of the person that opens it up. .

Yes you are right man, Blizzard isn't dumb and they have tons of money. I'm sure their will be a way around it at first but whats stopping blizzard from having HB them selves. Then all they have to do is edit there software to catch the new way. I kinda feel like this is going to be never ending battle with them. I could be wrong some say they wont ban again for years. I personally think they will keep banning
 
I got a question, i've been hearing that the 6 month ban email we recieved is just wrong and it was actually a perm. ban. but i have also heard that they just havent put anything past a week ban that it will just say its a perm. ban on the client but the email is correct..

so which one is correct? it is only 6 months right?

You got it Oneslowz28. But imho Blizzard would still ban for automation of the keyboard strokes even if they lost the law suit they have against HB now. I am not 100% sure on that law suit so don't quote me on it. I know HB won the case about gold and Diablo III. Congrats to HB on that. Blizzard will do anything to keep peoples money, Think of this, They will never show you or anyone else what so called details they have to prove why they ban anyone. If they did then they would loose the battle and probably be sued for invasion of privacy.
