We are aware of the issues that are affecting the servers currently.
Announcement:

These issues include Authentication failed and GB2 node issues.
Right now I am unaware of when they will be back up, but it should be soon.

It certainly is possible.
Other than our servers going down there could be a hiccup with your ISP, but then again it may be on our end.

Once our server issues get fixed it should be smooth as silk.
