First of all, I am NOT going to name the other bot, nor will I tell you in PM so don't bother asking!!!!
There now that we have that out of the way, I can carry on.
So, as I have posted before, I am fairly new to botting and was a little leary about using HonorBuddy after reading the forums, not just here but a few places, about the bans that seem to plague Honorbuddy.
So I decided to purchase 2 virgin accounts. Brand new Bnets, no looms, no gold. I also picked up HonorBuddy and another bot to compare them side by side to see how they worked and if any ban(s) would come. As I was prepared to loose either or both of the accounts, I didn't waste anytime sending either of them gold or bags. That and I didn't want either to be linked to my main account in any way.
So, using two different computers, I installed each bot on one of them as well as WoW.
Once I get everything set up, I fired them both up, using the default settings and watched the show.
At the starter levels, HonorBuddy wins hands down. It seems that the other one is only really set up for Alliance and only certain classes between 1-5.
However, both seemed to take off once they hit level 5 and followed the same questline. Which I do have to ask, why is it that they seem to like the human quest line? There's less people playing along the other races questing areas.
As time progressed and the levels started to get higher, I noticed that the other bot seemed to learn as it went. Whereas HonorBuddy seemed to be stuck on the path that it was set on and that was it.
Around the level 30 range, Honorbuddy was way behind on the leveling stage. As HonorBuddy dinged level 40, the other one was already into the late 40's. So it seemed that the other bot was on a faster path as far as leveling goes.
Now there are a couple other things that I noticed as well:
1) First and foremost is that HonorBuddy seems to be suicidal. By that I mean that it enjoyed running into large groups of mobs and then once it had pulled an insane amount, it would dismount and attempt to fight them, and end up dying. Now I know that were the toon in BoA's it probably would have had a chance.
2) There is no way to set up HonorBuddy to dismount and fight back when attacked, see above.
3) I also set up each bot to gather as they quested, mining and skinning. HonorBuddy ran past a lot of mining nodes, whereas the other one would stop and gather the node, and once it maxed out it's gathering level would go to the nearest trainer and train to be able to continue leveling it's gathering as well.
4) HonorBuddy seems to be limited on it's options as to what it will mail/vendor. The other one lets me choose exactly what I want to sell, what I want to mail, what I want to put into my personal bank as well as the guild bank.
5) I have yet to find a way to make it so that HonorBuddy wouldn't mount up when I didn't want it to. The other one, I could choose if I wanted it to mount, if I only wanted ground mount or if I only wanted flying mount. Not only that but HonorBuddy would mount, take a step then dismount to fight. If I was playing and saw that I would totally know that it was a bot playing.
6)While doing quests, it would skip gather quest items as it focused on kill quests.
7) Ganking.... Now that I know how to spot a bot, I also know how to get tons of free honor. I had one idiot sit there and gank the hell out of my toon for at least 30-45 mins before he got bored. All he had to do was wait for me to spawn and kill me again. And this goes for both bots. Maybe there's away to detect other players and hold off on the rez?
Now, I know it looks like I'm bashing the hell out of HonorBuddy and pumping the other bot up as the king. However, there are a lot of features that HonorBuddy has the other one doesn't.
1) HonorBuddy has a way better standard Combat Routine.
2) There seems to be a lot more support and communication between the developers and their customer base. I posted on the other bot forum and there has been no reply, yet there's a pretty quick response on this forum.
3) Way more options as far as plugins etc go. I'm loving Millz Products. Mad respect for him and his Routines as well as BGFarmer.
However, as ChinaJade pointed out, using Millz combat routines at the lower levels, seemed to cause some glitching. Once I was able to get more spells it seemed to work better. Thanks for pointing that out ChinaJade, it made a huge difference. Again, better support.
So in my opinion. Both have their pro's and cons. If there was a way to combine the added features of the other bot with HonorBuddy, you guys would have an beyond amazing product. Such as the options when it comes to mailing etc. As well as training as it did gathering.
I have to admit, out of the two, I am more than likely going to stick with HonorBuddy. Unless of course, my HonorBuddy account gets banned and the other one doesn't. As far as that goes, I will be posting right away if that happens (fingers crossed).
Anyhow, keep up the good work guys. You have a customer who enjoys your product. I would just love to see those features in HonorBuddy.
