Rare Search
​

Need to farm for a Rare for a mount, gear, trinket, etc? This Bot will do it for you! Currently in Beta stages, the bot will load a custom made profile, and start searching for the Rare ID you input automatically.

Why do we need this?
Tired of hand farming for Rares? Well then you know why!

Are there presets?
Currently, no. We need a list of preset IDs that users would like inputted into the bot so we can make it that much faster for you! (If you have a ID, please reply with the ID and mob type).

Does this train pets?
Not currently.

Does the bot Kill the mob?
Yes.

Does this support all continents?
Yes, from some of the testing we have done it does just fine!

Does it support multiple mobs?
Yes!

Does it interact with specific mobs?
Not currently, I need a list of what mobs require interaction to make this.

Does this farm minerals / herbs?
While in beta stages, no it will not.

How much will the bot be?
Hopefully free if users decide to donate for my hard work!

Is this a clone of RareKiller?
No, and yes. I have used bits and pieces of RareKiller in a sense to help speed up minor processes in designing. However, being that RareKiller is out of date, I've completely redid most of every snippet I've used to provide a more modern process.

Are Vendors / Mailbox supported?
At this time, no. However, They will be supported very soon.

Want access to [Beta]?
All I require is ACTIVE beta participants. Which will help in submitting decent feedback for me to work on. The more feedback I get, the better this will be for the user base in design.

ChangeLog.

(Large jump in drop because I was on vacation without access to a computer)

Known Issues:
*If more then one mobID is in the area, it will kill entire area then loot each corpse.
*Flying mobs are a issue.
*Unchecking looting causes bot to hang.

Non Issues:
  1. Can not generate a path with long distance hotspots.

  • This is due to the hotspot being extremely far, and it takes time for HB to download all the meshes to generate a path. If the bot hangs in one place, check your logs for "Downloading Tile". I am working on a resolution for this however, but for now it is not a focus.


Currently in production:

  1. Work on flying mobs issue.
  2. Blacklist creation
  3. Unchecking looting causes bot to hang.

Next release date: 1/16/15 (Subject to change)

How to make a profile:
Minor test profiles are attached.

Want to reuse your favorite profile for farming Rares? It is really simple!
The following is a simple breakdown of how my profile reads in my system. As you notice, it is mainly just <Hotspot></Hotspot>

So all you need to do now is open one of the other profiles you've used. And copy paste the hotspots into where this blank profiles hotspots are.


How to add multiple mobs:
Most users are looking for multiple Rares.. With this bot, it is extremely simple to do!

Now all profiles will needs the following Temporary tag to allow for Multiple mob searching!

The tag <AvoidMobs> is temporary. However, due note that while finding a suitable looking tag, this performs just like the other method used before. You can add as many as needed per profile. This will allow you to easily switch between profiles and not even worry about what mobs are needed as most users will now design them into their work.

As soon as I added your name it will show up under My Purchases on buddy store. You will have to enable it to stream.
 
I'm trying it out. Here are some initial impressions.

1. It seems to me that mob ids and hotspots go together. So I'm wondering why you have separated them into different places. I would find it more convenient if the mob ids could be added to the profile.

2. At what distance can the botbase detect a rare? I need an idea of when more than one hotspot is needed for a rare.

3. I'm trying it out in Pandaria. The bot gets on a flying mount but travels to the hotspot on the ground.

1. I will work on implementing that into profiles instead of separating them into two different areas, allowing ease of both profile usage, and mob id loading. Should be less configuration required on end user base.

2. Currently, whenever HB itself picks up the unitID within the program itself, the bot reads it. I am unsure of what the exact distance is, but I will look into a answer for you.

3. Please PM or post profile you are using, and exact area so I can recreate.


As for pathing, the base I used for it is out of date and took some time working on to get it to work. I am recoding a lot of it as I go, so any issues you notice with pathing itself please let me know. (Check known Issues for more information)

100-200 yards but u should place your spots closer (60-100 yards)

This has been done. Waiting for Buddystore to resolve to upload new version.
