Bossland makes all the final calls which is commendable

Especially when the calls he makes are unpopular. If game devs stuck to that philosophy... Well daaaaNg!

Anyways, not sure if anyone has the answer but moderation, or if it's been discussed elsewhere but I'm genuinely curious.

No x64 and open forums both seem like pure self sabotage. The former I get from a financial perspective. It's not worth it to him to tie up a couple devs for awhile just so we get a better performing product and more potential security.

The forum thing is what the question/post is about. I just saw another thread which was closed that has me curious. I would have posted there but it was apparently breaking the rules in the way which the OP laid it out.

Before I blabber any longer - we can all see the benefits to a closed forum. It's an inconvenience for the user base having to use different usernames and worry about who can easily find out if your botting. Not to mention the trolls and non botters coming here and linking posts, discussion, and info elsewhere to drum up negative publicity.

What I want to know is what the pros are? What positive aspect is bossland seeing that I am not which has him adamant about keeping them available to everyone? I assume these forums are sufficiently advanced enough to leave some open while privatizing the others.

Help me out here - what am I missing that out weighs what is gained by making them private? I obviously HAVE to be missing something.

There are no pros? To Bossland, there simply is no difference to making some forums private. Blizzard has their own keys, thus they would gain access to customer forums as well. Making them private would simply bring more negativity as their would be different "classes" to botters. So by continuing with a public profile it is the decision to accept the lesser of two evils.

You dont know who people are here. Neither does Tony or the devs. Anyone could be Blizzard and you would not be able to tell. Private or not, that stays the same. So what security is there?

I agree, make it private. Blizzard could never afford the £39.95 cost of a key to get in.

If you are really that worried...

Build a botting PC

i3,4gb ram onboard g-card..

Install Windows 7 32 bit..

Done... Blizzard will see ur running Windows 7 32b and not question you :D

Unfortunately I must have typed too much for the short attention folks to read. Of course blizzard has keys. I wouldn't doubt employees even use it. Since I wasn't clear - WHAT IS TO BE GAINED BY ALLOWING THE GENERAL WOW POPULATION TO READ OUR FORUMS AND LEARN WHAT, WHERE, AND HOW WE BOT?

Make more sense now? Sorry for caps :(

Heck even past friends and guildies are able to determine your botting by a simple forum name search etc.

Looking for a counter arguement but one likely doesn't exist. Perhaps they didn't consider the damage the average forum goer is able to do. They preach safety yet refuse to implement a simple safety measure. Of course it won't help with blizzard themselves, but blizzard themselves don't need these forums to take action (as evidenced)

Super entertaining when kids make obvious how un intelligent and immature they are without even knowing they're doing it. Good times! I often forget that first and foremost the majority here are wow players and faux mmo first timers. Pre teens even.

Perhaps I'll check back in a month when a larger sample size is able to read and respond.

How did you get this out of a post about forum access? I'm not worried at all, we are detexted and its a matter of time. No denial here. That being said I'm not going to downgrade my pc or experience over bad business and hypocrisy. To touch more on your point, I3 is still x64 capable and even if it weren't, anyone running x86 whether legit or otherwise is the minority and suspect at worst, still part of a more likely and smaller subset to be scanned at best.

Either way the evidence over the years speaks for itself.

Don't let this derail into an architecture debate - purely curious about access logistics and reasoning at this point.

Let it be minority or not. there are still x86 users out there who are thankful to be able to use HB.
Bossland makes the final call. Thats not commendable. If we like it or not. I also don't like some decissions. But Bossland is a company. and not a left driven democracy.
If the Bossland GmbH believes, x86 is the best decission, so it is. If you want a x64 bot, gather some good coders, build your company, and make a x64 bot.
But don't forget to make your company user driven. i am curious how far you will come.

Don't let the door hit you on your way out. I for one am tired of seeing you whining in every damn thread about x64, the developers, bans, etc. If you don't like how things are here, go and use your "extremely polished" bot instead.

So, you really believe someone would use the same name here and in WoW? Intresting, it insists you do... and you further believe someone, if not anyone, is going to read all the forums just to learn where we bot and what we use?
Never heard of custom profiles and what not? What would they learn and how many false reports would they produce... i better stop thinking at this point :D
And finally: there is absolutley no safety at all - the risk is there, always, just around the corner and the smart botters know this ;). But your point has, in no way, anything to do with how the forum is operating.

btw. could that be a troll? i'm wondering...

oh and about the x64 version, which isn't coming - i couldn't care less....never touch a running system until it is absolutley nessesary! And i dont see that.. sorry mate.
