So, here's the thing.

Through various studies (conducted both here at Blizzard and by other companies/groups), and by monitoring player behavior, we've discovered that suspensions are actually more effective than permabans for preventing repeat offenses by the same people.

There's some really interesting sociological hocus pocus behind it, but from what I understand, the TLDR is that if a botter gets permabanned, they'll often just buy a new account and go right back to botting. However, if we only suspend them -- meaning, they'll get their account back later -- they're less likely to buy a new one. Furthermore, once they do get their account back, they're EXTREMELY unlikely to bot again.

I'm not a psychology expert, but there's something about "I'll get this account back later" that leads more of these sorts of people to give up their botting ways than if their accounts had been permanently closed. It's kind of fascinating (at least I find it to be).

Side note: please avoid referencing bot programs directly by name, you're only making it easier for people to find them!

For sure not with me (Legion Sales) and I would advise Lizzard to make another Study of social Behavior. A Ban of 180 Day will result in giving up this Account. There is enough Time to create a new One, if so wanted. A 72 Hour Warning on the first Strike would be more helpful. 18 Month Ban ist out of every Range of Human Understanding, but its anyway a Minus for Lizzard. Because banned Accounts will comsume nothing. Even a Token in Auctionhouse must be bought by Somebody in Lizzard Shop. In the best Case (6 Month Ban) it is about 60 Euro lost on this Customer. In worst Case 120 Euro (by Token) that multiplied by some Thousend, can count on Bussiness.

lol I only just got my accounts back after last mass banning from blizz and there banned for 526 days now lol
also I just bought another wow account cause blizz banned the 3 I had.
so back to 1 account for know and wait for others to be unbanned to start botting again

I dont think they fully know how it was bereached from the May bans that happened, so I doubt they have a clue as to how this happened either.

Treat this Bot like its fully visible to Blizzard, becasue I believe Blizzard is fine with us botting as long as public forums dont erupt and force thier hand, OR they decide to do some pruning of our botting community which basically puts a PILE of cash in thier pockets from account sales and boosting services. I looked at my account history and I was embarrased at how much real currency I have forked over to them in realm transfers, boosts and that sort of thing.

LOL realm transfers ...It was me leaving a dead or dying server in an effort to find people to play with ...Garrisons made that pointless /Who came back near empty , unless you filtered for Garrisons.

The only way this would be really fun is if we could find a way of Botting with fellow botters in a guild that we could trust eachother ..but that will never happen.

Actually what hes talking about is not entirely bullshit at all. Some one who believes they got a second chance is less likely to bot again - or at least is going to be more careful about it. On the flip side if you get perma banned and make a new account, you just go balls to the walls cause theres nothing to lose.
