Battleground Queues and Addons - Forums - World of Warcraft

"In patch 5.1, we resolved some issues regarding how Addons interact with the Battleground queue system. It is no longer possible to automate queuing for standard or random Battlegrounds in groups larger than 5"

Note - Only applies to Random Battlegrounds, not rated/arena.

As Laria stated it was good that people were using this addon called oQue which allowed people to avoid botters, this in turn meant that it would be mostly botters vs botters (it is already but 1-3 real players) so we could have our Battlegrounds to ourselves and they could have theirs but this new change apparently means that this addon will not work so they will have to join botters again.

tl;dr Blizzard doesn't want separate Battlegrounds for bots/real players otherwise it'll make them look bad, so they broke an addon which was increasingly used by people wanting to avoid botters.

I didn't know people were doing that, good for them. I think its quite sad blizzard removed that ;(
 
I'm curious as to how they were pulling it off with an addon.
 
im guessing the addon checks if you are a botter and only ques with other people using the addon.. tsm had a feature that made you type a random number in occasionally..
they probably decided not to allow it because then less bots will be reported and that means less money blizzard can farm from banning accounts?
 
no it uses premade groups and ques at the same time and only gives a chance of getting in the same bg can still fail and some not get in has nothing to do with botters other than the bott doesnt use the addon they can still vs botts or get into a game with botts in it
 
I would assume the addon would queue large groups of people together through some means, plausibly a channel, but I do not believe chat channels are inter-server... possibly round robin invite everyone to group, auto accept if invited... etc.

I must say that is very impressive usage of WoW's Chat System to in-game connect clients.

yout can still use preformav /oQue in combination with firehack ( it unlocks the protected lua functions in wow so preform should work again)
 
This (type of) addon existed since Vanilla, sad to see it go :(

lol since when can u decide who u wanna queue against,

the addon had its "own" queue system, u queued for it and it found other ppls queueing at same time, and u got inserted into grps, then it queued u for rated bg instead of normal bg

Thanks for the trip down memory lane, that is EXACTLY the mod I was thinking about. Good old Van/Drek rushes
 
they did this because of multiboxing sucks to be the guy who 40 boxs wow

and they also did this so people cant win trade anymore
