i recently browse diablo 3 forums and find this question and answer from blizzard...

Community Manager How does one justify if he/she is botting? I mean, I could play for 12 hours for weeks not saying that would be a good thing but its possible so I am just guessing I would eventually get a ban hammer dropped on my head?

While I'm not about to reveal how we identify exploitative behavior in Diablo III (and understandably so), "playing a lot" is not criteria enough to merit an account action for botting.

i think obviously how much you play dont have nothing with ban...

that does not mean that they do not use 24/7 as a criteria .. but as long as we do not know what criterias they are using ortherwise theres no real reason to not go apeshit

it does not mean that if you bot less than 12 hours a day you will be safe. I botted less than 10 hours a day with break between, got banned as well

yes they wont ban you for 12hours a day, they even wont ban you for 24hours in a row, not even 48 or 72... ive tired it all

BUT what i never did, and what i think alot of the people who got banned did (friends of mine at least) was botting for months, without any break, and thats something you might get banned for

one friend had his barb farm for more then a month now, without EVER turning it off (except if the servers where down)
he got banned, he didnt care he made his money back, but still thats behavior which isnt human, and possible without third party software
